If you had to prioritize- would you choose career over loved ones or loved ones over career- and why and how do you choose?
loved ones-because loved ones are not easy to find. Careers are prison sentences anyway, But then u cant feed yourself off a plate of love at the dinner table..or pay your electric bill
loved ones - they are too precious to neglect...
well i'm an aqaurian and my boyfriend of two years is an libran and he puts his dream (work) before me.... it something he has always wanted to do and now it has finally come his way.... and i tell you what, it is the hardest thing i have had to deal with ever! im finding myself being in jealous of it, it is crazy!
Hmmmmm.
Let's see...that depends. I would not neglect my loved ones to further pursue my career. That is to say, if I had a family of my own, with kids. They would definitely be the top priority in my life, without a doubt.
But let's say I didn't have kids and I may have a boyfriend, and my job required me to move to another state or something of that nature, yes, I would be willing to do it, and leave my family and my boyfriend.
That's mainly because I believe that my future happiness depends greatly upon my financial security, not for just myself, but BECAUSE I want a family of my own, and I want us to be able to live comfortably.
Also, I believe that becoming a part of a career becomes a major part of forming one's own identity, apart from family life. At my age, that is something I feel is more important than settling down.
i think it depends where you are in your life maturity wise. in the end, you can't let your career run your life. i'll extremely career oriented and my previous girlfriends would complain that even when we are together my mind would be somewhere else. oddly enough, my current aqua girl says that is one of my most attractive traits. go figure...
No matter how successful you are, you can't take any of this with you when you go. I'm more family-oriented than career-oriented; however, I suppose it also depends on where you are in life at the time you have to make this decision. For example, have you accomplished all or most of your goals, how far have you come, how much can you sacrifice to lose, how much you've grown as a person, how much you've put into savings or 401(k). We're all money hungry, but it's just some of us have a smaller appetite than others.
It depends, but one is only half a step behind the other.
