So....I've been listening to the Weeknd's new singles and I've been a fan of his since House of Balloons. He's still an enigma to me in some ways and he rarely does any interviews, he lets his music speak for him.
I took a look at his natal chart recently and I wonder if anyone sees how it plays into his persona and his music...

He's a whiny muhfucka. Talented yes but needs to change the record and find God.

Lmao! He can be whiny at times, I'll admit. Drake, also. But, I feel that I can relate to them all the same. Blame it on my double Cancer, I suppose. Maybe he finds 'God' through drugs and sex, who knows? There's so many ways one can walk a spiritual path.

I was freaking rollin when I saw this parody, but I like the Young Money ones the best as well as that one Love&Hip Hop Atlanta vid.
I understand what you mean. I do like when his songs are lil more up-tempo like 'The Birds Part One' and the most recent song from his upcoming album, 'Belong To The World'. I know he didn't use to be like this, I heard some of his stuff when he was under his former name, The Noise and you can tell somebody fucked his head up emotionally. But, I guess you're right, it gets a little repetitive. I think my favorite song from him on his Thursday album was 'Rolling Stone' cause you got a glimpse of how he felt as a person, as an artist.
That is quite freaky. Lol! As I'm typing this; his song 'The Morning' is playing on a Chillstep mix I downloaded.
I just fell in love with The Weeknd even though I've known about him for such a long time now. I didn't think he'd be my kind of artist but he is. I just bought Trilogy!
I've noticed with a lot of musicians Capricorn placements can make for good songwriting ability and also tends to make an artist commercially successful. It seems with a Cap placement a musician knows what will sell. That Scorpio moon injects his music with a real depth of emotion. Scorpio moon also probably explains his aloofness.
@Virggy I think alot of people didn't think he would be their kind of artist. His Scorpio Moon and his Chiron in Cancer definitely make me feel he's a private person and that you can hear the underlying hurt inside of the aloofness. At first, i was like what? I thought he was an Aquarius, then I realized you meant his Capricorn stellium. Having both the Venus and Mars in Capricorn makes him quite an earthly lover which may make him forget that a display of emotions have to be involved for a successful union.
I hope i'm making sense. lol
@CC, do you know alot of Ethiopians to make that statement? Lol! I actually forget at times, he's of Ethiopian descent. The only time he actually displays something of his background in the music video, The Knowing.
Best memory of The Weeknd: a girl I was seeing invites me over for a couple drinks, I walk in her place & the lights are off except for candles & her MacBook playing "Gone" from Thursday.
It was ON.
I freakin love this song. Nice collab! smile
