I understand what you mean. I do like when his songs are lil more up-tempo like 'The Birds Part One' and the most recent song from his upcoming album, 'Belong To The World'. I know he didn't use to be like this, I heard some of his stuff when he was under his former name, The Noise and you can tell somebody fucked his head up emotionally. But, I guess you're right, it gets a little repetitive. I think my favorite song from him on his Thursday album was 'Rolling Stone' cause you got a glimpse of how he felt as a person, as an artist.
That is quite freaky. Lol! As I'm typing this; his song 'The Morning' is playing on a Chillstep mix I downloaded.

I just fell in love with The Weeknd even though I've known about him for such a long time now. I didn't think he'd be my kind of artist but he is. I just bought Trilogy!
I've noticed with a lot of musicians Capricorn placements can make for good songwriting ability and also tends to make an artist commercially successful. It seems with a Cap placement a musician knows what will sell. That Scorpio moon injects his music with a real depth of emotion. Scorpio moon also probably explains his aloofness.

Best memory of The Weeknd: a girl I was seeing invites me over for a couple drinks, I walk in her place & the lights are off except for candles & her MacBook playing "Gone" from Thursday.
It was ON.
