I like new years resolutions. The new year is a great place to start. I think the trick to keeping them is actually truly wanting whatever your resolution is - it can't be half hearted. Also not being so hard on yourself when you slip up - get up and try again, and you get stronger each time, and you get encouraged by your wins. But giving up reinforces your belief that you aren't strong enough to continue (when in fact you just need to keep going and build that strength).
My new years resolutions:
- To become more balanced, in everything
- Focus more on my health and overall well being, and stop/fade out my bad habits

Sydney's lockout laws are right where they need to be, that whole section of Sydney is so putrid and vile an air strike needs to be commissioned to the area. There's no sense of community in the area, had they had any of that in the first place they would have had a chance but all the businesses are at each other's throats because they are competing against each other and in the whole process have created a toxic nightlife where shit heads go out for a good night out on the roids and what not and kill each other.
Even my brother works on oxford st says the laws suck for his side of town, it's sad that the only time people come together and create shoddy communities just so they can have their shitty night lives back.
Melbourne has always had the best nightlife, even though it's spread out over a bigger area people are more welcoming and are from a stronger community that Sydney could ever hope to achieve. I think a big contribution to an living areas success rate is the people and Sydney has lots of rotten people, go to Melbourne and everyone are awesome, even the dickheads are awesome because at least they have character. I dunno living in Melbourne really opened my eyes.
My New Years resolution s to quit smoking again with my BF and get some muscles

I don't do resolutions because I'm never motivated to follow through with them. If I had to make one this year it would be to do some basic exercises every day but there's not a lot of hope for that happening
