Descriptions of the aquarius personality often includes the word eccentric?
Are you?
If so, how are you eccentric?
If not, how does it make you feel to have your sun sign described this way?
Looking forward to a good discussion...

I don't think they are eccentric. The definition online of eccentricity is "(of a person or their behavior) unconventional and slightly strange."
But all the aquas I have known aren't unconvential at all. They all were conventional, but why people always people thought otherwise was the fact that they handle things in a "on a whim" sort of way.
They come across as being flighty, short term memory, last minute, forgetful kinda ways but if you really take a look at them, they do have patterns.

This question is a lot harder to answer when you'd think initially ^.^
But after thinking about it... I think the one thing that is the driving factor for my own perception to others as being eccentric or odd... would probably be my never ending effort to understand something and then put what I've learned that works into practice. Very general I know but I'll give a few examples.
For instance when I go to the gym I use a method of lifting that isn't really that popular and some people would think I don't know what I'm doing. The method is called Max-OT or maximum overload training... yes to anyone who knows enough about lifting they probably know what this is and know its not really all that uncommon, at least among serious natural lifters. However, if you are not as well informed which the majority of people that go to a gym really aren't then you might find the way I lift to be absolutely wrong from what all your bodybuilding books/magazines tell you.
In any class I take... I do w/e is necessary to study efficiently to get an A. Like for these online open book chapter tests we have for this business class. I know that the teacher does not set it up to give you enough time to just take and search out every answer. Yet people still think they'll get an A but most don't. They know they don't have time to read the chapters so they don't.. but I bet most of them didn't think to take pictures of every question that pops up on the screen on each of their trials considering they have more than one.
I dunno I just always notice odd little things people don't pay any mind to. And I'm always trying to do things the best way possible. And its all centered on what I've found to work no matter what it is and what I've found doesn't. If I find riding a damn pony down the street with an ice cream cone stuck to my nose wearing daisy dukes REALLY gives me a good chance to win the lotttery you better believe I'll be out their experimenting the theory no matter how dumb it looks.
I mean on the all an all I think I'm a pretty regular boring joe shmo... actually exceptionally boring ^.^
But at the same time I'm willing to try anything that I find has some sort of benefit.
That's probably where it comes from for me. I don't know if it would necessarily make me seem odd though.

I'm normal (according to myself) but most of the people that know me call me crazy or weird all the time. I don't get it. In my teens I used to like sitting in the dark, just sitting there doing nothing. My sister thought I was depressed or doing drugs so one day she asked what I'm doing in the dark. I said, "nothing". She told me that it scares her & that she finds it very odd so I must stop it. I understand why though, it was soon after I lost my mother, so she thought I was suicidal or whatever. But, sitting in the dark is a habit of mine, I still do it now when I don't want to be distracted from my thoughts.
Anyway, I didn't stop it so she told me to at least leave my room door open. She even told my class teacher to watch me, etc. Apparently, my teacher also thought I was strange for some reason. I think it's because I had no friends, never spoke & always sat at the back of the class. She misunderstood my shyness for a big deal. I'm an obsever by nature so whatever to their creepy suspicions lol.

I think what people define as an Aquarius being eccentric is in fact Aquarians that are heavy on the Uranus as opposed to Saturn. I am the former and a complete goofball and others, incl myself, never know what I will do or say. The Saturnians are much more down to earth.

Okay, quote failed. Let's try again.
It's funny that my aqua thinkgs he's boring, too. Quite the opposite!! He's actually pretty interesting - can talk to anyone about anything.

I'm def. eccentric. Am I just completely different from everyone else in society? NO lol
I mean of course I have my own traditions & morals that I like to follow.
Although there's only 1 technical definition of the word "eccentric" that doesn't mean that people don't still have their own negative or positive perception about it though.
I agree with the definition that someone who is eccentric is most likely to do/say/believe in things outside of the social norm. That has Aqua written all over it! Perhaps that's why you can always catch us in a debate. Perhaps that's why we're always so misunderstood even when we assume that what we're doing is clear & makes perfect sense to others as it does us.
As others can tell, Aquas have their own way of going about things & won't stop no matter how confusing or irrational it may seem to others. I go about things in the way I want with or without the approval or understanding of others. I won't wait around for someone to go to some weird place with me, for example. I'll just go by myself lol And some people hate that! They hate rebels
Even though I am predictable in some ways, I'm also just as unpredictable in others. I'm an outside of the box kind of person. I notice & love things that most others don't notice or may consider weird.
I'll go left when everybody else goes right. Not b/c I'm trying to be different, but bc something about the "left" sparked my curiosity or seemed appealing soooooo I went left lol

My dad told me last night that I was the only kid in the family that would fall asleep anywhere on the floor, couch car and never needed to be put to bed and he told me he used to watch me sleeping and when I opened my eyes I would smile everyone else in the family would cry lol..
I would say I'm eccentric I have my own ways of doing things and rarely follow a textbook example??_..I have been known to randomly jump into a puddle of mud and swim around in full garb while it was raining because I couldn't resist the strong impulse??_.
I'm a magnet for eccentric people from all walks I find them really interesting and never boring I have a short attention span people who are different always keep me interested??_..I can't stand small talk It bores the shit out of me and It makes me feel very awkward because I don't like pretending that I'm interested and I prefer to tune out??_.but If someone blatantly stated that they believe in aliens or something outrageous ill slide over and be like "oh really"? lol

Not sure if this is relevent, but my mars is aqua and I don't like being just like everyone else. I want to be different. Most of the time, it's not even a conscious choice, but then again, once it's realized that everyone else likes the same thing I do, it does become a conscious choice to be on the lookout for something new and different. Of course, I have to actually like it, but it kind of lets me know when its time to change.
This may not be a good example, but several years ago, most of the women around here who are Cowboys fans had a crush on Tony Romo, but my crush was on Jason Witten. Then it seemed everyone liked Witten. I have been looking for a new player to crush on.
Same with the Rangers. Everyone liked Ian Kinsler (cutie patootie) but my crush was on Mike Napoli.
Eh...Maybe I just like the rough and tumble guys over the super stars, but it wouldn't matter, I'd still go against the grain.

I don't think I'm eccentric - my friends tell me that but *shrugs*
It's not that I don't want to follow the crowd or do normal stuff but I honestly don't think anyone follows the crowd do they? What's the point in living if we're not living our own lives.
My aqua LOVES to do things like make little miniature cities/towns/houses/people etc. He makes lots of dioramas and he's realllllly good at it. I see that as eccentric. He also likes to design hotel buildings in full detail (but he's an accountant, that does not have dreams of being a real architect...so this is highly eccentric and peculiar).
