yeah what's funny is i'm sure i wasn't the only person to laugh at some of the things he did and say. i loved watching his show as well as jeff corwin - both are pretty cool shows.
the article said he died instantly; therefore, very likely didn't feel any pain. i'm glad that's the case - i've always said that when it's my time, i want to go without pain.
he used to come by and jack off my lizard....only time i ever saw that little guy smile 🙂 he had such a way with animals! and he's going to be missed by the world (a true lost since he was also working on a plan for peace in the middle east) its gonna be a rough couple of weeks trying to heal from this disaster....
"because people die everyday not like that gets plastered all over the world,"
Rock has a point. Nobody mentions people who die from starvation everyday. But when a person who "does not starve" and dies from stupid reasons, he becomes more respected and apparently more "human".
Thanks people...(or maybe I should'n call you people anymore?)
"I think his death being publicised is justified as he showed crocodiles who 'the daddy' was...."
I also think people who die from starvation because of western countries politics has the right to be known since they are "products" of those countries.
By they aren't shown in media anymore. Why? Because they are not westerns and they do not make $ $ $ for them. Therefore, they do not respect them as humans.
"And you are assuming that just because someone empathises with an Entertainer, they don't empathise with people who suffer in other calamities, natural or otherwise."
I belive they don't. At least some of them don't.
Look at those ones who pay 10 million $ $ $ to fly in space. I mean, those money could save thousands for years instead of paying such a high value.
The thing is that viewers wo enjoyed Steve Irwin's shows got to know him as a TV personality and liked him. He was an enthusiastic person and this shone through in his shows. So it's not true to say that viewers shouldn't be sad that he's died because his TV audience did know him as a unique individual, perhaps not the same as hs private persona, but nonetheless and he will be missed.

It's easy to point the finger. Everybody has a habit or luxury that they don't need to exist; they just spend money on it because they can. So everybody from a middle income social class, for example, could give up this money to charity, to feed a family in Ethiopia for a year. But do we do it?

It happens like that because people are not given the "choice". Nobody thinks about them before making purchases. Because nobody cares. People give points to idiots. Such as this guy. He didn't starve and people already knew the risk that one day he could die. But watched him as a matter of "entertainment" and producers gave him good $ $ $ . So, people promote producers to make more "shit" for them and become more careless which eventually ends up with "bigger" idiots like the ones who pay millions to go in space. I don't even understand them. They surely has alot of resources to actually know what's going on in the world. But apparently, they prefer to fly in space rather than preventing people dieing.
I don't get your point. The point of this thread is that people are commenting about the recent freak death if Steve Irwin and that he was good TV presenter and how he'll be missed.
"whats the point in going on strongly abput how u do care, it wnt make a difference and do u really care i mean deep down "
Well that's a kind of relative question isn't it? I mean a lot of the topics that get posted and receive the most attention are of an inane trivial nature yet they interest people quite a lot. Do you make a point ot caring a lot about every topic discussed before you post a comment? I don't think so but maybe you do.
I'm sorry Steve Irwin died because he was a jolly fellow and an entertaining TV performer.

That's a matter of how our thinking style is being built. Not everybody thinks before posts and that exactly shows how we treat those bad situations in which people have to live. It's carelessness. Because it doesn't make $ $ $ to elitist class. Idiots.
One can speak subjectively or objectively. IF a person expresses sadness for whatever reason, you cannot argue and challenge their sentiment usiing logic. However if a person expresses a point of view that they have that hinges on a certain logic as they interpret it, well then this is open for discussion and challenge. But you cannot attack somebody for feeling sad or sorry.
I didn't say you were attacking her PM! I was trying to say that because this post started out by people expressing their regret about Steve Irwin's death, their sentiments shouldn't be attacked or challenged by whatever "logic" some people use.
He is an Aussie Icon 😢 This is really tragic - I guess he was put here to do a job - Bringing awareness of our fragile nature & the importance of protecting wildlife - all over the world people are mourning his death 😢 The Australia Zoo is not far from here - was meaning to go soon 😢
You don't live in Aus do you rockchick - don't think u are at liberty to say how people have or have not reacted to his death - esspecially since he touch so many. Personally never met him but did admire what he did & I think it is a loss for nature
"The point is - stop making this death matter more than it is."
The media soups up celebrities of all walks and fashion such that his/her followers can take a brief or not so brief moment to mourn the passing of someone whom made a difference in what they believed in or followed.
The Aussies I'm sure are more shaken up over his untimely death than others. He is Australia's own and I believe he followed in his father's footsteps to preserve the environment and protect animals in that country/continent/island. Americans and other nationalities may only see Steve Irwin as an TV personality, but those in environment preservation and animal protection may have seen in as so much more.
I can say that I liked watching his shows - albiet a bit zany at times - but nonetheless entertaining and somewhat educational. Jeff Corwin is who I enjoyed watching the most, but yes, Steve Irwin will be missed by those who followed that genre.
"i wasnt sayng how they have or have not reacted im merely pointing out that such reactions are a little bit false, sure people are shocked etc but it doesnt really concern us personally so y shud we care "
You're implying that people who have said they're sorry that Steve Irwin died are false and you cannot comment on the validity of how others feel about
Ah well that's only to be expected GL cos up till now she's been your little princess. I don't have experience really of this myself but I'd say you should involve your daughter as much as you can in holding and looking after the baby and changing his nappy etc etc so that she feels part of the whole new arrival. And he looks so gorgeous! Well done you!
To think of all the things that I thought would kill him...sharks, CROCODILES, venomous snakes, or something scary...but a lame freakin stingray kills him...that's just TOO uncool. That is NOT a way for a man like that to go.
In the abridged, feminist version of Adam And Eve, Adam takes his brain out (by trepanning and gives it to Eve and that's wait made her naturally curious about the apply in the tree of knowledge....
HEY!!! The last time I checked, this thread was about the crocodile hunter, not complaining about personal opinions! Please, if this topic was on any other category other that aquarius, then I would have let it slide. Do me this favor and for once please stay on topic...for the great crocodile hunter.
Think about it, there's a LOT of insane people in the world, but who can do his job as dangerously and full of suspense like he could?
I just think someone just needs to STFU,he wasn't a celebrity,he was a biologist/zookeeper/breeder/etc. and it's actually a fluke that he's this well known and it is based on his onscreen personality. He was more laidbacky on his other shows that was following him around at the zoo. Most people in that feild keeps it at a very, very professor like manner lame level to animal education,Urwin on the other hand was passionate and made it actually exciting to people to learn and care also. How many other people in his position can anyone think of that will actually get results to help an endangered species??Not many and it'll be only other conservationist and animal lovers to reply to most.Average people are the main people whos responsible for endangering animals, other humans, etc.so you can't use compassion as an excuse on someone who was all about compassion towards "lesser" species.
And geez,if you want to whine and act like your some kind of saint towards celebs about spoiled brats, acting, etc.and over hyped deaths.Theres the Ramsey thing on the scorp board.More than likely she would've just turned out to be some flaky has been stripper, porn star or something. There was a little slightly chubby girl here in ohio that the dude killed, tried to saw her head off even and raped her after she was dead, thats very underrated compared to the "prettier" Ramsey girl and noones even really knows about her.
Well if you only argue about what you feel passionate about theres the ramsey case topic on the scorp board to do that with if the whole celeboverrated thing is your only point.Urwin wasn't a celebrity,he was a zookeeper, born and raised as one🙂
I lived w/ an Aries for two years. To make a long story short. Last time we really spoke I packed all my clothes, left all the furniture and moved out. Payed rent until found someone to take my lease. Attempted to remain friends but typical Aries ways
OK, today my girlfriends and I were discussing the topic of playing hard to get. Do you think people really do this? My thoughts were that if you really liked someone, you wouldn't risk them walking off frustrated cause you played it just a little too h

They do have good qualities though. But they usually f-ck up at the end. It's like they bring 99% greatly to the end, but f-ck up at the last 1% which kills everything that's being done so far. The result, nothing.
