Is Red Hair Linked with Certain Behaviors?

It might sound funny but I'm wondering what the low down is a amoung the dxp populace. I've heard it said by way of old wives' tales and results of unoffical "research" that red haired women and men are supposed to have "particular" personalities. In particluar it's rumoured that red haired women are supposed ot have firey tempers.
I have red hair and I would say that yes when I get angry I really do let it rip. My mother has red hair too and she definitely trumps me in the anger temper scoreboard (she's a virgo BTW). I also was once friends with a red haired Sag girl who was almost dangerous when she got into a rage. I'm from Ireland which has quite a high - if not the highest - proportion of red headed people in its population.
Personally speaking I happen to think that red headed people have a particluar way about them that is unique to their hair colour. They all seem to be a bit different from the average person in their overall manner and demeanour.
This topic occurs to me from time to time so I thought I'd post it to see if anyone relates to what I'm saying.
Oooo.
I quite literally get hot (under the collar) when I'm either angry or embarassed. I can feel the blood surging up my body to my head and then it's advisable for either me or my adversery to walk away!
Anyway I reckon there is a peculiar "kink" to us redheads, one that's hard to put your finger on.
GL: you're maing me blush
Hehehehe ok I'll try! smile
I hope you didn't think I was blonde acos of the dumb connotations!
So come on GL tell me what you think is so HOT about the redheads? Actually there are two camps of readheads: the ones who have real carrot type hair which has very pale mily skin and then the auburn coloured heads. I'm a member of the latter and I have lots of freckles as a matching accessory. The carrot tops tend to be lankier and quite ethereal looking sometimes.
Yeah that's me to a tee Winking especially the Goddess look.
Hey don't worry about the odd typos GL, I usually make about 10 per post. Maybe it's another side effect of my contrary red headed gene!

Redhaired and Irish descendent here. MellowDee, you decribed me to a T! My Aqua guy uses to say I'm very "particular".
BTW, my hair is dark red, my skin is pale, not scaring pale though, but I don't have freckles all over my body. Well, some in my nose/cheecks.
Is Red Hair Linked with Certain Behaviors?
No, only you all have made it so. For years the media and people have been saying that people with red hair have had tempers and so this thought has been implanted into everyone. With the thought implanted you tend to believe it is so. People with red hair are no more with temper or other behaviors then others. Just as blondes are not any dumber then any other. To think physical trait gives you a certain trait is ignorant and narrow minded.
lol you could apply the same logic to star signs virgo
Yes as if we start to say that Scorpio are timid people while Virgos are party animals. Give it a couple years and viola.
Virgo101: how are you so sure that physcial characteristics aren't linked with certain behavioral traits. Do you have genetic proof to counteract this theory or are you just being narrow minded yourself in discounting the idea out of hand?
Listen sb it's a well known fact that oriental people share a gene which renders them particularly ntolerant to alcohol so that they exhibity extteme physical reaction when they have a drink. This is an aexample of a physcial trait having a physiological associative behavior.
It's true that ignorance lead to faulty beliefs in the past being used ot subdue and surpress peoples. Howvere I don't think it's any better to let PC-ness take over so that certain avenues of discussion are no-go.
Haha just came across this! From Red & Proud:
http://www.redandproud.com/The% 20Dominant% 20Gene.htm
" From pillar to post and coast to coast, the auburn word is on the lips of the many.

Red splintering through a haze of dark mediocrity.
From A to Z,
One to ten and back again.
Red Hair cuts through it all.
Whether you?re a Weatherman in Weatherfield,
Or a Minuteman in Manhattan,
Heat leaves you quickest through the top of the head,
And it?s up there where the brains are, that you?ll find the Red Hair.

We, The Redheaded are a hardy, resourceful band.
The Gene we carry has been passed down to us from The Picts, the original inhabitants of Caledonia, modern day Scotland.
The Picts were a potent mix of warrior and artist, The Dominant Gene coursed through their veins. Their reputation as an unpredictable, spontaneous race was the mortar in the bricks of Hadrian?s Wall.
The Picts legacy lives on in Scotland and Ireland today.
Their Stone Circles and Sculptures stud the barren landscapes, giving rhyme and reason to some of the most inhospitable pieces of earth on these islands. The Roman Legions, used to dealing with a cowering, subservient opponent, were caught unaware by the sheer fury of The Picts, their Red hair glinting and sparkling against the Caledonian sun. The Roman Empire ground to a halt at Berwick and all points North.
Redheads carry this stubborn resistance to authority and determination to choose their own way in life to this day.

Being a Redhead isn?t easy.
Nor is climbing Everest or Diving for Pearls.
It?s not meant to be, and you wouldn?t want it to be.
There are those who do and those who don?t,
those who will and those who won?t.
The Dominant Gene can skip a generation or maybe two, will hide in the Family Tree until the time is right to carry the message, then return to the fold when there are shoulders ready to carry the head and the hair. "

Remember the last time they tried to connect physical features with behavourial traits it lead to some very insane injustices in the world.
Exactly sb.
I'm not really intersted in the negative or positive spin-offs of any possible stereotyping. I'm still trying to classify what makes redheads slightly different in the ones I meet anyway and the way I sum them up (hardly rigorous scientific testing conditions Winking )
I'm still trying to classify what makes redheads slightly different in the ones I meet.
The degrees of hair color.
Some are blood red, others are strawberry some are light red playing on brown...smile
Brunettes = sultry
Redheads = foxey
Blondes = dizzy
No Virgo101 I mean some are slightly different form the norm. As I said I can't sum it up in words as of yet.
"they tend to have freckles too...and blush real easy!!!"
AB that's so true for me anyway!! I need a cure for this!
I'm sick of going red all the time. I wanna be the ice queen!!
No Virgo101 I mean some are slightly different form the norm.
Oh...
Redhairs are more interesting and nicer then blondes and burnettes.
Virgo101: "Redhairs are more interesting and nicer then blondes and burnettes."
You said it not me but I won't argue with you Winking
*looks at color wheel*
Chestnut is a form of brown.
I'd say so but only just smile
Yes but you get brown from mixing red with black don't you? So it's like a distant cousin of the redhead....ok you're in
Capgirl I'm sure we have a few honorary members of our club. Do you have a bad temper?
Do you have a bad temper?

Off topic: British humor is sooooooo different from American humor.
I would like to state for the record.
Did anybody ever read Dr Seuss's book The Sneetches? It's a children's story about flock mentality in people the way they follow the pack like they're brainless. The star bellied sneetches were in so everyone wanted to be like them and then the ones without stars on their bellies were "in" again and thus they kept chopping and changing until one day they realised that it actually made no difference whether they had stars on their bellies or not.
I really liked that story as a child and the ideas in it stuck with me.
Do I fit the description of a black head?
Do you pop with puss under pressure?
Having said all that I still think redheads have that extra "je n'sais quoi" about them. Winking
HAhahaha! very good Virgo101. Do you crave exfoliation Branh0913?
I don't what the hell you just asked Virgo101
A blackhead, pimples, your face, puss from those bumps...
Branh how many movies do you watch a week?
Do you yearn to be smeared in cleansing mud puck and then bathed in medicated waters and dabbed in anti-bacterial cotton wool? We might be gettting closer to hitting the spot for you Branh0913.
We might be gettting closer to hitting the spot for you Branh0913.
Might make him pop.
How about smearing a hadful over the general region of the infected area. That way we can draw out most of that stubborn bacteria hiding away.
*hadful = handful
Branh0913: Prepare to be DEEP CLEANSED
Hey there's lot more gunge coming out that I thought possible....
