So. Has anyone actually read his book, A Million Little Pieces? If you have, what are your thoughts on all of the hooplah over his embellishments?
I will have to check that out, Primegen. Sounds interesting.
I read Mr. Frey's book, and it was incredible, regardless of his embellishments. But addictions recovery is what I love to study, so I was intruiged with his honesty and transparency.
I completely agree. People are focusing on all the wrong things. It is truly an amazing story and the message is fantastic. He not once blamed anyone for his choices as an addict. That's what is so likeable about him. I think Oprah was just covering her own a**. You know?
he is a good writer
he is an excellent writer! I will read his other book next--picking it up this weekend.
The whole time I was reading it, I was thinking how crazy it is that reality for him was so messed up. I mean, think about how normal our lives are and how adjusted we are on a day to day basis. He knew nothing of that.
I mean, I don't think it's a big deal either..
but it's sort of the same scenario of when Ashlee Simpson was caught lip-synching on SNL. Even though there are those who like her and still enjoy her songs, people just focus on getting the real deal.... especially if they're paying for it. The book seemed more meaningful because it was promoted as a true story (not based on a true story). When it came out that he embellished on some events, people questioned the entire story.
Oprah covered her butt because she has an empire to protect.. and I don't blame her. I wouldn't let someone else kill my credibility either.
who tells the hole truth? does any writer tell the whole truth? Who wrote to kill a molkingbird Harper Lee the only book she ever wrote or truman capote?
