My Aqua friend certainly doesn't just want to be friends lol

I've never felt so confused by someone lol I thought Scorpio was trippy, but their patterns I can at least predict and work with. This Aqua friend is the same one I've mentioned before. Met him back in 2007, reconnected two years later briefly, then again last year in March. Now, he's an Aqua Sun, Aries Moon, Pisces Venus, Sag Mars and Aqua Merc. I'm an Aries sun, Libra Moon, Taurus Venus, Gem Mars and Taurus Merc. I can pretty much deal with what he's giving me for the most part, but he does send mixed signals. We hung out last Saturday as I'd mentioned before, and it was totally casual, and the energy felt entirely platonic. We didn't even kiss or touch, just had dinner and then watched movies then he took me home. Now fast forward to yesterday, he had to put his dog down who'd injured himself badly. And I was present and there for him, letting him know of my support. Which I'd done in the past as well. I told him he could come to my house for NYE so he wasn't alone. I was just staying in, getting over a cold. He came over, we watched movies, chilled out. I consoled him, and then he got all mushy lol I suspect it was his Pisces Venus, and the fact that he was a bit intoxicated. But he went on about how good I am to him, how beautiful he thinks I am (Pisces Venus can get enamored with looks, in a dreamy way, so I've heard). And the outpour of adoration continued. I'm not sure how all Aqua suns are when they're drunk, but he was certainly vulnerable with me last night. And he has been before. But it fluctuates. He just randomly texted me a few minutes ago telling me I'm beautiful, out of nowhere. And I don't think it's just a looks thing for him, seems consumed by my presence in general. If that makes sense? I suspect he'll disappear again soon because Pisces Venus does, as well as Aqua sun. But it's quite a fluctuation for my Taurus Venus lol any thoughts?

Give it a chance...maybe he's sending mixed signals because you're not as showy about your feelings and he doesn't want to face rejection.

I can be patient, so I'm giving it a chance. I have a domicile, fixed Venus. I can wait it out 😛 but the issue with that particular Venus matched with a Pisces Venus is the fact that I'm slower in my displays. Granted, our Venus signs are sextile so it's positive. However, Taurus Venus needs time to warm up and to feel safe. I'm equally romantic and affectionate. I just want to be cautious; his push-pull makes me a bit uneasy. He gushes, then goes under the radar. So it's like ??

Well damn :/ how am I supposed to find that balance? He's an Aqua sun and a man, I don't want to be too overt and freak him out. And as I said, blatant expression is a scary thing for any Taurus placement. We have to feel secure enough to do so. Thankfully, I am an Aries sun and Gem Mars, so they push my Venus a little. But, I'm still unsure...

I did share with him that I wait for him to contact me, because I don't want to be a pest. I want to know that he wants to talk to me. And he responded with "What— That's exactly what I'm doing!" in a very frustrated tone. Mind you, I'm sure he was being more open because he was intoxicated. But I've been briefed on the randomly vulnerable nature of Venus in Pisces. So it could be a mix, for sure.

Do you think by talking to him about it, he'll find a way to slow things down enough and keep them steady enough for you to feel more secure? Have you even communicated this with him? Aqua with pisces venus is a thought-driven/emotionally unstable sign (very dreamy, stuck in their thoughts and aloof I think), so you may need to be a little more communicative so he's with you on realistic grounds and not merely in his fantasies, rushing away when affections aren't being reciprocated or caving in too fast when for a moment things feel right

It certainly couldn't hurt. I'm so used to keeping my wits about me in the presence of the object of my affection. I can't stand to expose myself, only to have wished I'd known better. And all while privately suffering, hoping they'll figure out what I need on their own. I did communicate some of the things I'm speaking of with him last night, however I cannot expect him to just know everything else. You're right, I do need to be more communicative. It'll be unnerving for me, but I have to establish those realistic grounds, as you said. His sun and Venus need a little roping in lol

It's fear of vulnerabilty not rejection.

or it might be both, however you have known him some time so i am taking rejection out of the equation.

Aquas go underground to shore up when we expose ourselves, nothing to do with the other person tbh. Hopefully he will commmunicate this to you and not just disappear.

Yeah, I could see that. I know Aquas are notorious for not wanting to divulge their vulnerabilities. However, Aquas are more sensitive than people give them credit for. Sensitive in a good way. Especially with a ViP lol this is most likely a self-preservation tactic for him at the current moment. So I will just wait for him to feel safe enough again to emerge.
