Not to compare but....
Aquas aren't romantic. I don't think those kinds of thoughts even cross their minds. So, if you're wanting romance you're not going to get it. But, aquas do make their own efforts to show they care and I think him getting up and remembering at 5 a.m. is pretty dern special!!!! Realize this, the first thought on his mind that day was wishing you a happy birthday! How does an e-card later in the day beat that?
sometimes we all need to just sit down and meditate and think about how grateful we are to have to ones we love....choose love always...its the best gift....I don't mean it philosophically or metaphorically but literally

I can't see how someone would be more impressed by an e-card than getting a "Happy Birthday" wish first thing in the morning, but we're all different.
Sounds like you're more into your ex than your current boyfriend, so perhaps that's something to think about.

Hmmm... Maybe I was expecting something more uncommon? Like everybody greeted me a happy birthday online and offline. You know, like a simple happy birthday. No other special messages and aqua did the same. Hahaha. Alright, maybe it was the thought of him waking up early and greeting me first thing in the morning. No card or flowers. But, he does make me feel special everyday which is probably why I was expecting something different. Hahaha. I still love my aqua. Even if he didn't greet me at all. What's a birthday anyway? 🙂 sometimes, I just have weird expectations of love that I don't understand. But on the brighter side, I am still inlove with this aqua man. I am sure about that. 🙂

I think that is the way you should look at it. 🙂 He makes you feel special everyday, what else do you want 😛
The best thing you could do is stop expectations. And you'll learn to appreciate a lot more the subtle things you seem to be overlooking at times.

I'm a crazy gemini. Lol. I get those "romantic" attacks. Lol. So as you have all advised, do not expect but let him know I want something. That is a good one! I will do that next time 🙂 yes, he makes me feel special in little ways like when he's honest to me, when he doesn't start a fight, when he wakes up early to tell me that he wishes me a great day, when he stays up late to talk to me, when he spends friday evenings to be with me than be with his mates watching manchester united. 🙂 he's a good man. Oh, not to mention he offers me songs and tells me I am beautiful on unexpected occasions 🙂

Definitely! Not just that, he doesn't ditch me for the game but he invites me to watch with him, in case he really wants to watch. Which, I am also very happy about. Like if it's ManU and ManC. Lol

Hard to get use to doing that because they're not like any other kind of guy! But once you do start to notice, you will see so much more than those other guys offer.

Well, first, aqua greeted me at 5AM and he was the first one... So I was impressed. However, he just greeted me and sent me cutesy pictures. Now, I was surprised as my virgo ex pretended not to remember my birthday and got me so annoyed... Only to find out that he had actually planned to send me an e-card for my birthday.
