When they are off then let them. Don't initiate. Let them initiate. Otherwise it'll reinforce the running after them thing.

I learned when they are busy leave them alone, then they come back wanting all of your attention and then they are gone again.

Its like in that other persons posts. They have an off switch, when its off then go away and leave them alone to do whatever they wanna do.

Otherwise youre making it worse lol.

I agree w/ everything IAmMystified says. For me personally, I won't respond to messages, texts, or calls just b/c I don't feel like it at the time & feel no urgency. I wouldn't be worried if you don't get responses back for a few days. However, If it's weeks, then I'd be worried lol. For example, an old co-worker contacted me on Monday. I'll respond to her tomorrow (maybe). It's all good. On the other hand, I have an aqua male cousin whose been on "vacation" with friends for almost 2+ weeks & hasn't come home yet to his woman. He's done lol. It's a disgusting trait, but we all have our flaws. Hope that helped 🙂
