We were talking and...

I was talking with an aqua male, I am a cancer. We have known each other since highschool (now in mid 20s). I let him do most of the initiation on everything and he did. He text me and called me all the time, we got along great. We went out together twice and had a movie night at my house, in which we both ended up falling a sleep on the couch because we were so tired from work. We had made a plan or "date" for the next friday and he just had stopped talking to me. I reached out to him one time and when I got nothing, I dropped it. About two months later I see a picture in my newsfeed of him and his new GF. Apparently they have broken up and he text me just saying "hope everything is going well!" I really have no idea what to say to him or if I even want to respond. Its like I am second option, and I will not be. Why would he try to get back in contact with me after 4 months of nothing? I never gave up the goods so I know he is not coming back for that. Any ideas Aquarians?

No idea. I know I wouldn't want to be second fiddle either.

You already answered your own question. As to WHY per se, given you didn't give up the goods, who knows. Guys can be really selfish and it could all merely be for ego. He just split up with his girlfriend and wants that ego stroked.

Okay, just wanted a second opinion is all. I will not be ego stroking or a rebound so he can for get it!

I'm not backing him in anyway but do consider this.

Maybe he does consider you as a close friend. When he did find someone to love he momentarily forgot about others and only focused on her. After the breakup he comes back to earth and thinks wow I haven't spoken to my friend in a long time.

Who knows really. But there's the second opinion.

Doesn't sound like he considers her much of a close friend if he's going to forget about her so easily.

No but it'll be unfair to say one can't be 'blinded' by love so to speak. I've done that before where I've forgotten about my friends for like a week so who's to say it can't last for months 😛

I think the issue here though is the OP feels unjusted, seems to have made up her mind about it all, perhaps entertaining the notion he has these feelings for her when he might not. It's hard to say when she hasn't given us the full story imo.
