I had been dating my Aquarius for two months, he is my partner now.
In the beginning, we started seeing each other once a week for about three weeks, neither of us would visit each other's homes... Finally, he caved in a sense.
By this point, I mentioned we could see each other a bit more than just one a week, turns out he wanted the same thing but was afraid to ask in case I GOT scared off.
I was worried that only a month in we both had a busy weekend and trips that meant at the beginning we'd go for two weeks without a meeting. In the past, any kind of break leads to a cooldown... Or perhaps they were just not interested enough.
During the two weeks, we still texted every day, sent pictures and we made concrete plans to see each other once we both finished our trips.
A few weeks later he had already planned a3 week trip around Europe with his friends. A week before I asked if I should be dating others while he is away. I said I've had offers but turned them down. I said I don't want to assume we're just seeing each other... He told me that he is not using the dating app we met on. He has been assuming I was just seeing him since my whole weekends were spent with him. I said never assume. He then went on to say that he didn't want to impose on my freedom. I said it wouldn't be if it were my choice. He then went to say he didn't want me to date others.
Ever since he's been introducing me to his friend's as his partner. He's been spending more and more time with me, on weekdays as well.
When I read astrology on Aquarius, they are painted as non-committal, always running and cautious. This one does not match the description?

As soon as an Aquarius shows you their vulnerabilities: their fears, concerns, weakness, thoughts, insecurities, desires they will gauge if your response is tuned in with philosophical ideas (big picture ideas vs their personal values). Once we gauge they you have the capacity to live out and grow with us. We are all in.
For example
Im interested in a cap guy-so far every single time he has snapped called me a weirdo. Then apologize then snap. I become distant but friendly. I continue on for 6 months and the thoughts in my head are "Lets see if I can change this around"
During in which, this cap guy would think im inconsistent. When an aqua is inconsistent is because their surroundings are inconsistent. I will access pragmatically and feel what is the possibilities with my weakness, their weakness, strengths. Forecast probabilities of routes in conflict resolution. During this process, a big picture will surface out of patterns. this observations will be tested. Aquarius (the smarty pants of the Zodiac) needs dependable information outside their feelings. Which creates (not intentionally) distance as we are in our head. Because we feel our feelings and then immediately process them rationally, we may come across aloof in our time of figuring things out. In my situation, I tested if its due to a lack of communication, conflict resolution style s, trying to make us compatible, seeking to understand , testing the things I've gathered (its like the scientific method). I'll also use my diplomacy and fairness/ reasoning to handle him. As soon as he reacted, I would think "this hurts, but this is really who he is...am I okay with this?" meanwhile, in his perspective, Im quiet, not responsive, slow. When he said "youre not normal" I ghosted him for 2 weeks. Disappeared. When time went by, judgements have been made
a) cap guy has trust issues. (observations that has been tested over time) But It doesn't matter what I do or say..what is it that i need?. If nothing I do can help and he isn't helping the situation, then the obvious decision, despite how much Im in love with him, is to leave. No explanation needed. To explain after making my own choice, is to work things out. He clearly doesn't show me that he has the CAPACITY to work things out. I disappear, or slowly drift, become less available, not answering texts/ calls/ invitations quickly. Meanwhile, on the outside, he'll continue to think that I am inconsistent (true) and confusing. At what point do I take accountability? Am I being fair in this situation?
b) I will try methods to indirectly get my point across and directly (all with tact..working with his needs and weakness and who he is) If he continues then its HIS CHOICE. Judgement: If he can't see what im putting down in all the ways i've tried to reach him..The BOTTOM LINE the BIG PICTURE is that there is nothing I can do. If I were to give a talk about leaving, it'll just lead into a DEAD END.
Not sure if my example connects the confusion of Aquas...
Big picture thinkers, start from details all the way up to a final judgement, idea that applies to the situation. This idea thereby isn't used across the board. Just this person, time, situation. This creates confusion for those looking for e.g. a virgo who is consistently/ stubbornly following their values. An aqua core is expansive in nature so the bigger one thinks the easier it is to grasps their big ideas..
If one shows the aqua partner through the nature course of the relationship, and it doesn't equate to "limitation" "restriction' "lack of growth" "dead end" "UNFAIRNESS" "not reasonable The aqua will walk...rebel unconsciously and move on to protect the emotions. We want to be able to MOVE FOWARD and any idea/ person that embodies a set of ideas that are limiting wont work out.
This is not to say we wont argue or fight. It is to say, we don't bother even doing any of that if the other isn't able to handle us. We try not to hurt others that wont be able to understand us. We dont bother to even have a talk if it doesn't connect to the big picture of things. If we aren't going to get better and this time i'll give it my all but for how long? Earn their trust, show them that we are worthy. The problem with some aquas is we forget ourselves and when we finally do all that work and gain that person, we realize that we aren't happy. Boom things take a 360. Mature aquas start to learn how to consider ourselves first before jumping into anything (non-committal)
We are cautious still, non committal to most (most people are that expansive or thinkers), and aloof still. However, its all just a different time / priority level compared to lets say a cap/ virgo/ taurus or water signs. Cap may notice the immediate detail. Aqua the same. But the aqua will now be in their head sorting like the above, while the cap is creating a immediate judgement (sometimes misjudgement) act on it and become unyielding. Time then makes the Capricorn reaccess their original judgement. While the aqua has refused to partake in such games, we patiently wait for the right time, right response for every situation. Once a judgement has been made, we don't budge as we not only balanced our feelings about it, accessed in a philosophical/pragmatic way, dependable information, testing it, testing ourselves, questioning ourselves..that once a decision is made, rarely we correct ourselves.
E.g. Now my cap and I rarely talk, but when we do its great. I continue my social graces/ charm, following my values. But deep down, I will NEVER share my truest emotions/ vulnerabilities/ fears. Aquas compartmentalize people to balance conflicting needs. I appreciate him but knowing his nature and keep a distance. Aqua will commit and be loyal not based on personal weakness but on GREATER truth outside of their own interest. We are highly reliable and trustworthy in this sense.
Such as a capricorn loves with necessity. We love truth..and whatever is true will grow in itself without our own doing.
In your case! he has dissected a big picture map of you, and loves what he sees. In time, we get more attached and more and more loving/ giving. This includes supposed weakness/ fears/ unconscious/ subconscious root of behavior.

As soon as physical intimacy was involved and it for to 4 weeks I cleared that up.

Yes of course it's too soon to judge. But I've kind of been swept up into this relationship, as he started calling me his partner without any discussion around that. 😂
I went along with it.
I don't know his other signs, not sure what info I need to try and create a more accurate chart of mine OR his...

Last thing I would want to do is impose on your freedom, like your boyfriend says. It's because we know how much that freedom means to us, that we wouldn't want to take it away from you. There is a bit of projection going on there, but the intentions are good. It can come across as non-committal, but it really isn't that way. I take my time to commit, I need to be sure you can tolerate my need for freedom. Best way to know is if you need the same level of freedom, then I have the idea you can handle it if I need my space.
So when we were talking about not dating other people and he said he didn't want to take away my freedom, but he wasn't dating others and said he didn't want me to date others, he meant he didn't want his freedom taken? Despite choosing to do so? 😆

Yes, sounds strange, right? He probably needs to feel like he can choose his freedom at all times. The point is: to him it now feels like he has the freedom to choose to be with you. he doesn't feel obliged by you or the relationship. And that is exactly why he spends a lot of time with you. Yeah i wouldve assumed the same. Not saying its a bad thing. We are idealists. We assume things without considering peoples decisions. Its our way of thinking. We look past minor details and see the bigger picture. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesentclick to expand

Do you mean his vision of the relationship in the long run? What he wants from it? How it fits into his life?
Because people don’t understand them. They are totally the opposite if they love you. You can always always count on them
My mother is a triple Aqua Sun, Moon, Merc.... possibly the most sensitive/defensive person ive ever known. Fuck what you heard about Cancers. However, she has NO idea how to process those feelings. She shuts completely down inside and out. I used to resent her for it, now I sympathize. I cant imagine how hard it is to exist like that.
Because people feel better about their experience with someone if they can blame it on 'sun sign traits' instead of acknowledging the fact that the connection wasn't as fire as they thought.

I have a query regarding aquas and this thread. I had a rough few months with one who was very detached both Aquarius and showed obvious signs of commitment phobia beyond what one could consider “normal” and treated me too badly and distant on occasion to the point I had to say enough. I know he liked me a lot and we had a good connection although he struggled to connect as such. I, without being accusatory suggested there may be some attachment issues when I pulled the plug having given it as much as I possibly could with his pushing me away. (I have issues myself from a complicated childhood). He did not get angry but agreed nicely and in aqua analytical fashion and said he has decided to go to therapy after putting it off for a long long time without any time for thought almost an immediate response as people I.e. me are getting hurt.
I am confused why I have been the one to create this need for change (I have picked up others have been affected/hurt along the way). He told me he also had to pull back to protect me from his hurting behaviours in the final showdown. The Aquarian analytical part of this confuses me with feelings involved on his end within himself I guess.
This is very Jupiter moving into Capricorn for Aquarius obviously. I’m just not sure how I was the catalyst for change when it could have easily gone on for the sex etc. He chased me for years but then didn’t want me when he got me and there was more bad than good behaviour. I am now pulling back all contact to provide space for him to deal with this - it was hard at first and he was very patient and actually kind when I reacted emotionally to the hurt which wasn’t a great display (I’ve been very calm and rational the rest of the time however considering) and for the final straw outburst most men probably would not have been so kind and patient no
