Okay I'll start. I will describe the best Aries I know. He's a buddy of mine and he has some of the typical "to-be-expected" good Aries traits of being high energy, a really good leader, and very optimistic.

He also has some "pleasantly surprising" good traits that you wouldn't necessarily expect of an Aries. Those are: mellow, calm, and patient.

Anyone else have an Aries that you know who exhibits Aries-like and "not-so-Aries-like" traits (both good)? Do share!

Or, just continue this thread with general Aries appreciation. : )

I'll start off by saying any Aries worth his/her salt should have at least one Virgo friend/family member/ acquaintance/ fuck buddy/ lover...they need help untangling their wool from time to time and Virgos are happy to oblige.

Now on to the staggering amount of Ariesness in my life:

1) My paternal grandfather. Longest marriage I know of...close to 60 years. Married to a Sag. He fought in the second world war, lost 3 brothers on the eastern front. He's a harsh man, a little difficult at times. His nephews and nieces make him tear up every time.

2) First Aries boyfriend. While it didn't last, he was really nice and assertive, which is something I enjoy a lot. Had our first date at my place, because he wanted to cook for me. I opened the door and right after I said "Hey, I'm...", he leaned over and kissed me. Adorable.

3) Best female friend - We met in high school, she stalked me in the corridors til she gathered the nerve to come to me and befriend me. She thought I seemed interesting so she rammed her way into my heart. If soulmates exist...this is as close as it gets for me. I get her, she gets me. I love we can lose contact for months and start again and no one is pissed...we both understand life gets in the way. I value her friendship immensely. I'd be devastated if something bad happened to her.

4) Gay male friend - We've known each other for 15 years I think. A lot of banter, some fights, at the end of the day we still find our way back to each other. He's with another Aries, they recently opened an art gallery to promote young artists. They'll find place for your stuff and help you sell it without asking for any commission. That's really nice and noble of them.

5) Aries male friend - We met in college, I was discussion astrology with some colleagues one day and he came straight at me "So, are Geminis to be trusted? Yes/No". We haven't had the chance to catch up lately but, same as with my Aries best friend, we bridge the gap quickly.

6) Aries boyfriend. He's the only boyfriend I ever had where, if we part ways, I'll still think fondly of him and we'll probably still be good friends. His biggest complaint with me is my nagginess and when I tell him he comes across as insensitive he'll retort "Well, go find a Cancer then". He has his temper tantrums but I don't let those rattle me. At the end of the day, we're friends first (he has an aqua venus) and always consult each other with anything going in our lives. Full honesty.

The one other Aries friend I forgot...found out just minutes ago she died in a plane crash yesterday.

23 years old..an eminent medicine student..along with a team of doctors she had to go to help some people in dire need of assistance in a village in the mountains.

Everyone on board except her and the pilot survived.

It took rescue teams 4 hours to go across TWO FUCKING KILOMETRES..when they arrived she was already into cardiac arrest.

I'm in shock. I cannot stop crying.

We were supposed to meet last week..I was unable to come because my wisdom tooth is acting up. Her last message was from two days ago..telling me to look after myself and get some pills because he wouldn't want to see me sad when we meet.

Saw this secondary to your post in the Virgo forum.

Again, my condolences.

It irritates me when people die due to utter negligence of rescue/medics. My friend's dad died of a heart attack because one, nobody was aware of the signs, and two, when they were aware something was wrong, it took 10 minutes for the on site first responders to get there, and 911 responders another 10 minutes more. The first crew didn't have an AED on their rig, which baffles me. He would have been okay had there been an AED like there was supposed to be.

Situations like that are tragic enough, but pair it with the fact people just could not get their shit together just makes the entire thing worse.

My sympathy to your friend's family. 😢

PS- people, go get CPR certified. kthx

I know too many Aries to single all of them out. I adore them alll. Funniest is when I meet someone who seduces me completely with their "go-getter" energy and feisty passion, and end up learning they're an Aries. But there are some who stick out.

My friend, who is an ex of a friend who initiated conversation one day with "You're really hot." and then we got into an discussion about how I wasn't fond of him flirting with me when his ex was a really close friend of mine. He persisted and prodded for months until he dropped the charade and started being more of a big brother than charmer. He had my respect when I learned he was a big momma's boy, and he learned there was no way in hell I'd be intimidated by his "bad boy" get-up. Not to mention when he told me the only time he went to jail was because he beat a guy near death because the guy was abusive to his girlfriend. He acted like a hardass but I could tell he had his sensitive points, and we stuck around for each other in a lot of low points. Kicked each others' asses into gear.

My ex-roommate's mother. I fucking love that saucy loudmouth. I still visit her at the bar near my old home and I'm one of the very few who have the privilege of sitting in the kitchen while she's cooking. And to receive free food. (Which tastes absolutely delicious.) I love how independent and emotionally strong she is, incredibly strong willed and has the best raunchy humor. The way she tells things how they are is the greatest. And she helped nurse me back to health in a wicked hangover on Thanksgiving. She pretty much adopted me.

My mother's husband. I don't consider him close enough to be my stepdad because he pushed me over the edge one too many times over something very serious, but I still appreciate how much he supports my mother and the house as a whole best he can. We've butt heads a lot in the past, enough to the point where we've gotten into a fist fight and I threw him out of the house after he blew cigarette smoke in my mother's eyes years ago, but after I attempted to murder him he seems to have been able to tame his temper better. He approaches me calmly and asks me politely to do things now, so I respect that he understands what is wrong and improved. He doesn't kiss ass, but he doesn't throw a fit if something isn't done right either. Above all, he makes my mom happy and puts up with her mood-swinging temper tantrums. That takes a lot of guts. Maybe a little craziness.

My boyfriend. He is th

e absolute best, and I don't think I can give him enough credit for how amazing he is. He is a bona fide gentleman, ladies man, grandma's boy, and his determination absolutely astounds me. He got it in his mind to lose weight and managed to lose over 90lbs in a year at the gym. Goes there every day, no matter what. Even if there's a blizzard out. Has a very formal job and a lesser job on the side, nice car, decent house. He told me once that when he was younger his family didn't have a lot of money so he didn't get to enjoy much as a kid. Now that he's older, he does everything that he can to make his life the best it can be. He is the most admirable man I've ever been with. And all of my pets love him! I'm pretty sure they love him more than they love me.... And he's willing to do anything adventurous! Rock climbing, whitewater rafting, hiking, camping, biking; I only briefly mentioned wanting to go to Florida this summer and he immediately mentioned he has a cousin who will let us stay for a decent vacation. Me, being someone who loves to drift anywhere and everywhere, I find this perfect. It's been months and his passion is just as bright as it was when I met him. I can't say enough about him, but I hate gushing too long.

Over all, the tenacity I always see in Aries is inspiring and magnetic, and even their crankiness has a certain charm to me. Their temper sparks my temper but it burns even after a good argument or rumble.

He blew smoke into my mom's eyes, and I know how bad cigarette smoke hurts. If it was an accident it wouldn't have bothered me. But it was deliberate, and hearing my mother cry immediately puts me into a rage. First time he did it I very calmly took him outside and told him if he did it again he might end up with a broken jaw. That was his first and final warning. He did it the second time and I let loose. He decided instead of discussing it with me that he'd slam the door in my face. Mistake #2. I managed to get him to leave though, after a few fists and his glass of whiskey were thrown. But my mom took me to her friend's house so that I wouldn't kill him when he came back til I calmed down.

Now, if he ever raised a hand to my mother he'd be awfully cold lying in a ditch. But I think he knows better. Especially now. Messing with my family is just like blood in the water to me.
