Not everybody like gay people, black people, white people, some men hate women, some women hate men, it exist, hate exist in the world and if I thought for a second the men that spoke about their feelings in a hateful way I would be the first person to speak up about it. Maybe some understanding is needed before everyone swoops down and gang up on one person about how terrible they are because he says ewww when he see 2 men kiss, I guess a 4 year old that says ewww to seeing 2 men kiss is racist and homophobic too. I am glad everyone spoke their turn on this subject.
It seems both sides opened up.
A couple blokes said that when they see two men kissing it makes them feel disgusted, because they could never see themselves doing that. And isn't them saying "I could never imagine myself doing that" as an honest feeling. At least they spoke up.
It was also said that at a time people treated couples of other races or interracial background in the same "disgust". A valid point.
I am sure we have all been too loose with the word, "faggot" and "gay" on the boards and in life, and that pisses people off to no end, who aren't even gay because they don't see a reason to use those terms without knowing the pain behind those terms used against someone who is in fact gay.
People who don't feel comfortable about the topic at least stop once in a while to imagine what the worst thing to be said to you, and then imagine someone being randomly called that, and imagine if that would make you feel hurt, defensive, protective etc.
For those that spoke up against the use of the term, wow. We live in different times when random people would speak up in defense of those mistreated in life, and that is a good sign that the discussion is being made at all.

Schools are more crowded, life is more ramped up, school officials are told to not get involved with student quarrels (let the Police handle it when it gets bad etc etc). Being gay is a sin to some parents, I went to college with so many people that were told by their parents that if they were gay or wanted to go to school for something other than medicine or law they would be disowned and yanked out of college etc etc.
At least in quieter times people who were gay had only one place to go, and it was cool and underground and nobody bothered you there. Now the world is open and raw and everyone wants to hate on each other for just being different, and with everyone so unique these days, that tends to be a lot of ammunition for those who want to pick on other people.
I grew up in various tough places and having to guard a younger brother for being the heavy kid and watching a sister suffer from the pressure of teen life, made me believe just as much as everyone else that high school life just sucks for most people. I was lucky to have had a great high school life, but it didn't stop me from seeing what friends and outcasts were put through.
I know there is a lot of hate on the internet and to think "omg wtf why is that girl getting beat up for being unpopular on FB". I hate to see the story where the Moms are hating on other teens etc etc. It is so Maury Povich and needs to stop already, agreed.
But all teens who feel they can't escape their pain is a very very sad thing. We should be thankful we made it out alive and definitely offer encouragement for anyone going through a rough time.
Definitely encourage them to not do the facebook/myspace bullshit and stick to studying and doing well in school to the best they can, cuz it is way worse to be stuck after graduating high school with the same people in town.
I have played online games before where all I heard were idiotic fools (guys and gals) screaming Nigger and Faggot and Gay for no reason all damn game. Seriously I know when I was 18 and had no sense of myself outside of common culture I used the term "gay" for stupid things but I eventually got told to stop, that I sound a fool. Why people are allowed to go on and on at least on video games sounding like the scum of the earth is beyond me. It doesn't change your life and make you weak to find a vocabulary that is dirtier and more offensive that doesn't involve race or sexuality. You actually will impress the cool kids more b
