Do you guys often find yourself feeling disappointed or let down?

I feel like I tend to expect too much from people and situations, that I usually end up sad and unsatisfied. I think this is linked to our child-like personalities and the fact that we are usually ready to do a lot for people we care about. Additionally, I feel like I do not learn from disappointments and go "freshminded" into a new situation, just to experience it all over new. I just can't get myself to be mistrusting and cautious with people (which can be both good and bad).

How do you deal with it best?

^^^This is where a lot of my trust issues stem from!

You have to learn to be vulnerable and understand that the thing that comes with vulnerability is that, with all the people and many personalities in the world and their susceptibility to miscommunicate. and step on each other toes, YOU are bound to get hurt/ experience disappointment.

So, you can either close yourself off from all forms of human experience (so you never experience pain or disappointment or any form of human emotions for that matter) or learn you from your experience by understanding that it's just that! Part of the human experience and just move on. Learn from it and move on. 🙂

Oh I know her and most of her speeches, Brene is amazing!

That's kind of my point though, I am not really afraid to embrace it that i DO get disappointed and hurt as a consequence of that. I am aware of vulnerability and I think as human beings it's normal to feel hurt of "fazed" by things.

My only thing is that you know how some people have this motto of not expecting anything, that way you won't get disappointed. I wished I had that sometimes..

I feel like I have a scenario in my head every time and of course it never comes true, cause life is not a movie..

Honestly, you have to separate reality from expectations and it's easiest to do, at least for me, if I play out the best case scenario and worst case scenario... and I think of how I'd react to both. Usually with worst case... if it's really bad... I always come to same conclusion. I'm not going to die, I will be hurt but I will eventually move on. It's definitely a balancing act... I think with out Air moons we can be idealist and have our heads in the clouds and we need some grounding and the best way is by looking at it objectively and realistically. So, See what you see not what you WANT to see... BIG difference.
