I've always thought it would be more difficult for a fire sign to feel lifeless, and without purpose. Fire lights everything up, either with passion, euphoria or wrath

It's not really a lost cause - it's just how you need to find a balance. Use your Gem rising to even out the negative feelings with some positive thoughts/activities. Challenge yourself to move beyond your comfort zone.
If you want to know your placements:
1) Go to www.astro.com
2) Click on "Free Horoscopes" tab
3) In the drop down list, look for "Drawings & Calculations"
4) Under Drawings & Calculations, click on "Natal Chart, Ascendant"
Make sure you know your time of birth and location of birth.

Then there you have the challenge, I don't know specifically the reasons of why your plan doesn't work to tell you solutions(you can't do it because of money?)
I read the post about your fam and friends, analyze if it's true, if you really finish things you started then ignore them xD as they are not helping in this situation.
If you need time or money you can still do it, but realizing you'll have to work more or wait more time to accomplish it. The thing is keeping the focus on your goal
and work to reach the objective little by little (patience!, isn't it Aries' best friend? : D)
