Aquarius help please

Hi, would appreciate good advice please.
For three years this guy, (Aquarius), and I have been chatting on and off, mainly on WhatsApp. He's been wanting and very keen to meet. So after all that time and four weeks ago I decided that we would finally meet. He came round and we hit it off straight away as if it was meant to be. He was impressed about me and visa versa. We chatted, lots of cuddles etc and amazing sex. Cuddles and chatting also after. He stayed all evening until late. The next day he text me.
The next day he text me, saying thank you for last night and he would like to see me again and can't get me out of his head. I said yes about seeing me again. Later that day he basically wanted to come over. Which he did and again had a great evening, talking, cuddling, sex cuddling etc. All night and morning.
So as the week goes by we chat and he sends me a birthday message etc. And says how natural we feel, and I'm a bit too good and he wants more. I think yea fair enough, how great.
So after on the Monday after the next weekend I message him, light hearted how was your weekend chat, he say good etc. And says aww do I miss him, indeed I have I respond..
Next day I mention I'm free if he wanted to catch up. He then seemed distant and said he hasn't had a great day and has been crying and wouldn't be good company. Me as a caring chap said hugs I don't mind if your upset and very easy to talk to when your ready, shoulder to cry on. Couple of days later I said hope your feeling better and replied how sweet I am. I added that I'm not chasing you but offer cuddles as we have been chatting for three years.
Anyway he was upset as he had housing issues, missed and appointment and his parents, back in France, told him off for some reason. He is 35 by the way. But he would need cuddles.
And said I've made him smile and that is so sweet and would I like to meet at the weekend? Whenever I'm free, he said how about Friday, ok great. So we arranged a time.
Come Friday and he sends a message sating have to cancel tonight sorry x.
So I replied that's ok how about Saturday? He then said not really feeling himself and need some time to look at where he is heading as he feels he is heading for a wall. So I offered me as a sounding cushion if he wanted to talk to me at all.
Anyway we didn't meet. Couple of days later I send him a coupled of nice pics he responds with a kiss etc.
Then he says he doesn't know what he wants and if I see him i'll become real and he's not ready for that. Anyway he said he cried a bit and said I'm by far the sweetest person in a long long time that he has met and doesn't want to get it wrong so needs some time off. Until he gets back from a holiday at his parents in France. So as the days go by, we chat on and off and he says he wants to get things right, I haven't pushed him away and I'm not heavy but that we should catch up over a meal.
