Interesting vid TL; once again more questions than answers..i think the bible is taken much too literally. If in doubt, people should use common sense. However, if every word in the bible were myth, that still doesn't convince me that 'soul' does not exist. My gut instincts keep saying 'life' IS divine and not coincidental. i don't think our Earthly existence was ever mean't to be easy or even fair for that matter. Hence Karma and lessons learned. We arn't meant to understand everything. If life were perfect and fair, then this would be heaven. But it isn't. (Either that or we some primordial species from a higher alien race, presently being watched.) In short, i think intelligent people keep 'open' minds..'who could ever really know the 'ultimate truth', until the last breath is taken ..?'

..This means that essentially a soul must become immune to anger present in others (hate, hostility, jealousy, vengeance, etc), and look past these negative emotions present in others and see the underlying fear for what it is ? just a temporary illusion to help us as souls master these higher qualities of love. (here, it's as if roadblocks (are) purposely put in our way..)

I guess fear is a result of ignorance - Mans limitations on comprehending the world. When he fails to get it running as per his wish, he start getting afraid. He find more reasons to support and cover his fear. If i knew how to get things that I need and very well aware of whats the best I be achieve, I wouldn't be wasting my time living under fear. Since mans knowledge about the possibilities and limitations are way limited, he obviously surrenders to fear which is the next step, then it leads to anger and hatred and jealousy.

LOL @ the satirical vid, TL..! 😉 Interesting point you make about fear/human limitation. It's kind of like the relentless mouse wheel; around and around .. *one rabidly feeds off the other. Man is highly intelligent and yet very human. i think it's safe to say, nobody is completely right or wrong. Perhaps life in the end, is what you make it.. anything after that is out of anyone's hands. What can you really do, but hope for the best.. Makes me think of this great movie line.. "You can't handle the truth!!" Maybe it's best not to know everything.. 'at least not yet..

Actually, the true materialist would not admit to anything being enlightening, because such a subjective state of being cannot be independently verified - it is a personal cognition undetectable by current technology...

if it cannot be measured by senses, it can be measured by technology. Or the consequences of such an effect can be measured. If both cannot measure it, then its called a self delusional stage.

Yes, and our instruments can measure activity in the brain, even down to the individual neuron...

But, let me ask: Where are you between two thoughts?

Consciousness is not so easily defined, observed, or quantified; so, is it a self delusion?

As Joseph Campbell notes: ?I know my body. My body is an object. I am the witness, the knower of the object. I am therefore not my body.? Next: I know my thoughts. I am not my thoughts.? And so on: I know my feelings; I am not my feelings.? You can back yourself out of the room that way. And the Buddha then comes along and adds: ?You are not the witness either. There is no witness. So where are you now?

So true; there's the biological brain and then there's our conscious thinking minds. I think there's certainly a synergy of energies working together; body, mind and spirit together. And much like body & spirit are one; so too, the brain and conscious/thinking mind..

Still inside the brain!!! What a human perceive as thinking is only those communications he make with his memory part of brain to convince himself that he is thinking. His brain works more when he in fact is not thinking. Most of the thoughts is processed subconsciously. But as and when a human grows up, he start displaying some stubbornness to thinking and all he happen to do is to repeatedly convince himself that he is thinking. You can survive almost all your life with this kind of basic communication with your brain by retrieving stored memory patterns and actually avoid using the actual processing power of our brain when you are living in a developed society where social parameters are preset. We use logic and calculations and pattern matching using our existing stock of memory and we are stuck when we dont have a previous pattern. You tend to make most decisions using this same logic and calculations and most times those choices you make doesn't make you happy. Now thats the whole difference btween trusting what you learned during your life and trusting what you are born with. Leave all those thinking to your brain and let it control your body. Dont try to be smart inbtween by finding faults with whatever decision it makes. You will see the difference of actual power of your own brain. It has its own way of staying connected with nature and working accordingly. All those animal instincts will slowly resurface where you can almost predict whats going to happen next.

hmmm, but what if someone was brought back to life via cryogenic science, let's say 200 years into the future, would they really be the same person? If the soul had already moved on, which it would have to, since the body is technically dead.. *or would they merely be a shell of themselves. Body, brain .. Anyway, if ever perfected, i always thought this type of science could answer alot and maybe even prove ..*that we are more than just blood, tissue, cells and neurons.. *then again, maybe in the end, some things in life can never be quantified..

Do you really think a time travel is possible for organic substances? I still dont think its ever possible and kinda yet another dream like unicorn and mermaids. Transportation of non organic substances are possible. Now if we make those 200 years like u imagine, you think our body cells will be able to remain healthy?

Theoretically all religions teach good. But they all kinda overlooked the factor that human brain is not designed to accept some generic advices and philosophies. instead of removing ignorance, religions concentrate on building fear which has caused enough problems.
Each ones brain is coded differently and if he try to incorporate these vague religious ideologies into his complex brain, brain will not be able to accept those values as it is and often go offset from the desired output. More like trying to read a file format which is not supported in that particular OS. But each person is capable of identifying the processing logic of his brain and manipulate it by himself if he know what all values are needed to bring peace. Current system of society doesn't support any such attempts on peace and is designed in a self-destructive fashion.

(by the way even Buddhists are equally dumb like Christians except that they don't murder as frequently as Christians)

TL, it's not exactly time travel, it's a futuristic science called cryo-preservation. And although not perfected as of yet, it really does exist, and 200 + years is alot of time to get it right. There's now over 1000 people across the world on a waiting list. Never say never.. Remember a time when people thought the earth was flat and going to the moon was *impossible. (I think believing we don't have souls, is the stuff made of fairy-tales and mermaids..lol)

cuz he don't live on our solar system or earth it self so a six days may be a SECOND on earth time OR maybe a millions years we don't know the time difference between earth time 24 hour = day - and god time who make this world and whole universe *** or it maybe a six days on earth time he can do it and for humans who say he cant , i say can u make even a mosquito to compare your power with god or say he cant


any way - its nice for someone to have a religion its better to walk in desert with allot of water bottles with you rather than go to desert without water bottles

Amazing insight! Just as in science, a hypothesis / theory may not be "true" in the philosophical sense, but it may still be useful. Einstein's theory of relativity may not be absolutely / universally true, but it certainly helps explain how starlight is bent by the gravity of the sun - as observed during total solar eclipses...

lol... Same has happened in 13th-18th century in Europe. Sponsored by catholic church. Just that it dont get documented. Most wars fought were sanctioned by Church and all the wars they fought were in the name of daddy God right from the day Catholic Church took control over Kings. Compared to any other religion, Buddhism is better in terms of Body count. Not much people have been killed over that man. But still walking into any Buddhist temple can confuse most people since they pray to Buddha though he asked them to meditate and then they give money to Buddha to get their things done.
