20 and drinks (too often)

I'm 20 and i drink (beer) once in a week. Is it too much? Is it bad/dangerous? Is it un normal?

Yeah, and this post gives me the impression that you have pretty good self control, unless you mean you're binge drinking.

I drink beer like every other day plus the occasional glass of wine for dinner. So what does that make me?

If in that "one night" you're putting away enough to lay yourself out till the same time the following week... well 😉

Most people know instinctively when they drink too much-- at least, imo.

If you feel weird drinking beer once a week and think it's weird, then don't do it lol.

The norm is different among people like I could tell someone I drink alcohol 4 nights out of the 7 and they'd probably think I'm an alcoholic (probably closer to 5 nights) but it's just a quick beer with friends or colleagues after work.

If I were to binge on those nights then yeah probably I might have a drinking problem.

LOL you kidding me? Once a week is nothing.

Hmmm, it's really all relative... Here in Oz most of my male colleagues for example probably have anywhere from 3-8 beers a night plus additional 'real' drinking on the weekend.
The ladies at least one or two glass of wine most nights of the week...plus additional weekend.
But that's a sample not the rule...
Then again some are dry all week and only sink a case on Saturday arvo, or only enjoy wine on dinners out or special occasions.
I myself drink about once every three to six months, one or two glass at most.

No. That sound pretty normal

BUT it depends on how you ARE when you drink that 1 beer.

Hey, some people act as crazy, irrational, moody & drunk with 1 or 2 drinks as others do after they've had 10 drinks! And if that is your case, then yes 1 drink is too many lol

I have a friend that drinks 2 martinis at least once a week. Sounds pretty normal right? WRONG! She's such a lightweight & starts acting crazy after just 2 martinis. Even though it'd probably take 5 for me to act that same way doesn't mean that HER limit is the same as mine or any body else's.

Plus it all depends on why you're drinking. If it's for social reasons, hey be young & have fun. If it's to self-medicate b/c you're having a hard time coping with issues in life, then I still feel that 1 drink a week isn't a big deal, BUT watch yourself b/c drinking as a form of self-medicating could easily turn into 2-5 drinks a week, then 6-10 drinks a week before you know it!
