Alright but seriously help me

Introverts, I need your advice. I love Christmas alright, it's all just dandy. But all Christmas break I have been smothered by friends and family who want to see me. I am drained to the brink of fatality, and if I don't get a little time to myself I'm gonna put a gun in my mouth. How do I politely tell my loved ones that I am sick and tired of them breathing down my throat, and that I would literally rather shit out 5 cheese graters consecutively than be forced to attempt small talk with one more toothy-grinned motherfucker?
I'm talking Martha Stewart, 11 inch, $ 200 cheese graters, against the grain.
With you friends, you don't really have to say much. You can just say you're busy or don't feel like hanging out. If they're your friends, they should be okay with it. Family is a bit harder to deal with. I'm not very close to my family, so I'm not sure how this all works. Do you have a day where everyone gets together? Like Christmas or something? See them then and get it over with. If it's in a group environment, you can sneak off easier and won't have to converse the whole time. If not, I'm not sure what to tell you. I've never had family visit specifically to see me, so idk. Or, you can just tell them "I've been really stressed lately and while I'd love to see you, can we do this another time? I'd like some time to myself for now." I personally think that's an acceptable comment to make. Whether you follow up later and actually see them is up to you. Haha.

Overdramatic much?
I'd tell them but if you're an introvert I would just distance myself from everyone. They will get the hint and they'll stop trying to engage you.
Ungrateful much? Be happy they love you and like to spend time with you.
