It is said that certain degrees and placements in the zodiac predispose people towards learning astrology - becoming astrologers
the 27 degree on the Leo-Aquarius axis 11 degree Virgo angular Uranus, strong Mercury Pluto in 3rd Aquarius on the cusp of the 7th house Pluto in aspect with Sun-Moon or Sun-Moon in Scorpio Jupiter in 8th
Anyone familiar with the meaning of degrees and sabian symbols?
DeadRingerr your chart isn't visible in your profile; need to post it so that we take a look 🙂
Ninjamu that's all valid, and valuable since you know now why you keep reading it, right?
Aquaj Uranus the ruler of your sign, and Mercury as the lower octave that translates Uranus, as well as Jupiter with the intuition process, are usually mentioned when it comes to astrology. Although, it's clear that strong Neptune gives psychic abilities and Pluto - the sharpest analytical mind that strips the unnecessary layers away from the truth to be unveiled
@Elly: Ellyyyyy so glad to see you're back 🙂 Angular is when the planet aspects the 4 angles of the incarnation, Asc Desc IC and Midheaven. Surely your planet aspects the Asc so sure you know it by now since you're writing on an astrol. place Jupiter in 8th (the Scorpio house) gets the truth out of the other world (incidentally my jupiter progressed to the 8th cusp, really excited to see what insights it gives when it enters ..

I asked about the age you got into it first because it helps determine the time we actually start "owning our charts", living the first aspects and all, since they apparently belong to our parents until then ..
I guess I first got into astrology in general at the age of about 12 through Linda Goodman's Sun Signs, but I didn't go on to get my birthchart done and study astrology until I was about 20 years old, when I was horrified to see that I had Saturn in the 1st House! With regard to the "astrological degrees" thing I have the Moon at 26 51 Aquarius and Mercury retrograde at 26 10 Leo.
Somebody I am in private correspondence with from dxpnet has the Sun in 12 Virgo and Venus in 27 Leo. The astrologer Alan Leo once said something like: "the particular areas of the zodiac associated with the study and practice of astrology are beyond doubt those around 26 to 29 of Leo/Aquarius and 11 to 12 of Virgo/Pisces".
Yeah that's what he said, Leo being stronger than Aquarius, so your friend has certainly very strong placements 🙂 Virgos make excellent astrologers, my all time favourite Liz (Greene) is a Virgo 🙂
I'm more fond of 27 describing astroforces rather than 26 to 29 because each degree represents a different experience and 29 is Regulus which means something else
As I said earlier I myself have the Moon in 27 Aquarius and Mercury in 27 Leo (retrograde) and when I first read those words by Alan Leo many years ago I felt absolutely stunned!
You need math to certify yourself as an astrologer. You don't need that much math if astrology is a hobby since astro does it for you much better and faster than you'll ever calculate it It's all good BlazingGoat, these things shouldn't stress you out, often times I used to worry that one day the internet'll drop and I'll remain without my chart database 🙂) untill I realized my mind tales snapshots of each interesting chart just to reproduce it later .. There are people whose names I don't recall, but the aspects in their charts? Most definitely yes 🙂
