I hope nobody actually believes this stuff... its like believing in the tooth fairy, or Santa.
Have any of you never been to a physics class.... sigh

Posted by fugu2Likely not, but something in his chart probably wants the attention.
Why is everyone in this thread referring to Jesus. I don't think Sir Science-a-lot will be particularly amenable to Christ either.
Posted by scienceisrealEven physics can be flawed. Just ask a black hole.

Posted by scienceisrealYes, theoretical physics because I enjoy things that can't be proven but use mathematical formulas to predict behave.

Posted by littlenanobyteTechnically you can't prove what happens inside a black hole, so for now it is unkown. Physics can prove why a black hole is made, but it can't prove what's inside. Physics can only explain what it can hold and physically see, nothing past that. That's where it's flawed imo. It's a great tool to have, but not all knowing.Posted by SoulActually in theory, black holes are covered under every law of physics (Einstein discovered that they are -theoretically- supported by math in his theory of relativity) however if you believe a singularity lies within a black hole, or if you want to fuck around in quantum mechanics, or think about a higher dimensional universe (anything beyond the 4th), then that's where those laws break down and don't matter anymorePosted by scienceisrealEven physics can be flawed. Posted by littlenanobyteHave you read Hitchhikers Guide?Posted by SoulThey themselves are even still just a theory, never proved yet. The theory of relativity just proves that they can exist, and the mechanics on how they could work, (perhaps infinitely dense, holding galaxy together, sucking everything in, etc). But yea, we don't know shit about what's in there.Posted by littlenanobyteTechnically you can't prove what happens inside a black hole, so for now it is unkown. It would be crazy if the universe was inside a black hole and is constantly recreating an infinity of itself. When the universe dies all the energy and every atom of all matter is pressed together so densely it collapses in on itself, but the inside explodes and creates a whole new universe. That's more philosophy though.
I'm kind of an atheist personally, which makes none of this real imo (astrology), I believe in the singularity. The universe is fuckin weird though. So weird, anything is possible. I always wonder what extraterrestrials look like. How they breathe, how they see or feel or taste or whatever they sense. How they communicate. I bet there's some weird blob gooey lookin creatures out there. And extraterrestrials that look just like us. And everything in between.click to expand
Posted by littlenanobyteThere IS a movie and it is waiting for me on hold at the library to retrieve tomorrow in fact! ? I told my friend he reminded me of one character and he was very offended. Lol! He'd only seen the movie and I've only read the book so it's been on my list to determine exactly how badly I offended him. Movies always portray the story differently than the book!Posted by LibrasaurusrexI've definitely heard really good things, and this sounds like something right up my alley too. I have so many books on the "recreational reading to read" list right now, I'll have to add it, and hope I can get around to it one day. I read the shining and Doctor sleep somewhat recently.
@littlenanobyte You may find it to be fun for exploring ideas about what extraterrestrials, other planets, and the overall nature of the universe could be like.
Be sure to read the whole series. There are five books. I've seen copies with the triology, then you have to search for the last two. My sister has a copy of all five in one. Or they're all seperate.
Theres a movie though right?! ?click to expand
Posted by littlenanobyteI will be sure to report back. He was basically like, "That guy was such a moron!" Lol, oops! Yes, kind of, but, "Mostly adventurous and free spirited.. is what I meant!" was my reply. ?Posted by LibrasaurusrexThat's so funny!
