The position of Venus in a man's chart, by sign. If a man's Venus is in Aries, he is often attracted to a tomboyish woman, perhaps athletic in appearance, but more importantly, direct, forthright, and straightforward. Ultra sensitive or shy women are not usually the most attractive women to these men, as they tend to prefer strong and independent types. If a man's Venus is in Taurus, he is often attracted to women with hourglass figures, who come across as natural and calm, and rather feminine. More traditional feminine types are often preferred, as opposed to aggressive or in-your-face personas. Sensual but simple auras are most attractive to these men. Sweetness, and a simple voluptuousness in a woman is ideal. If a man's Venus is in Gemini, intelligence or liveliness are often more important than drop-dead good looks. An athletic or tomboyish look, sometimes on the slim side, is often preferred. If a man's Venus is in Cancer, he may prefer women who come across as sweet, soft, and warm. He is not as inclined to go for women who are model-thin, tomboy-ish, or for the high-profile career type. He often is attracted to more traditionally feminine looks, simply dressed (not gaudy or flashy). Understated but feminine summer dresses, accentuated breasts (natural, not "enhanced"), an aura of innocence or neediness, and the promise of devotedness are usually turn-ons. Venus in Cancer men often go out of their way to avoid feeling rejected, and this is mirrored in their attraction to women who are not too aggressive, loud, or overly confident. If a man's Venus is in Leo, he may be attracted to women who are proud, outgoing, and perhaps even gaudy. Aloofness or a dignified, confident aura is usually appealing to these men. These men are more inclined to enjoy women who wear a good deal of makeup and jewelry. Flashiness is often appealing, although some will prefer a slightly more understated look. The bottom line, however, is usually a rather bold, confident manner. If a man's Venus is in Virgo, an appealing woman to him is usually an understated, rather simple appearance without too much glamour or ostentatiousness. Healthy, natural, and clean are most appealing physical qualities, and a certain amount of intelligence as well as a modest, sensible approach to life.
If a man's Venus is in Libra, he is most attracted to femininity expressed as understated charm, good manners, and a simple but beautiful appearance. Coarseness or rudeness is often a turn-off. If a man's Venus is in Scorpio, the femme fatale is just fine for him. He is especially attracted to women who ooze sensuality, who are perhaps a little dark and mysterious, and who have a magnetic and powerful aura. If a man's Venus is in Sagittarius, an energetic, happy aura in a woman is often most appealing. Generally these men are attracted to a clean, robust, athletic look, generally slim but not necessarily well-groomed. A tousled, casual appearance is just fine with these men. If a man's Venus is in Capricorn, he often finds a woman who has an aura of competence about her very appealing. More classic looks, as well as a career-oriented look are most appealing. Sometimes, older women are especially appealing to these men. If a man's Venus is in Aquarius, he can be most impressed by women who are somewhat unconventional or kooky in their choice of clothes and overall style . He wants an interesting woman. She can certainly be beautiful, but boring? Hardly. If a man's Venus is in Pisces, he is often impressed with a feminine aura of softness, sweetness, and neediness to a certain degree. She need not be robust or aggressive. Lacking in confidence is just fine, and so is a touch of helplessness.
The position of Mars in a woman's chart, by sign. If a woman's Mars is in Aries, she is often attracted to a strong, independent, and forthright man, perhaps athletic in appearance, but more importantly, direct, confident, and straightforward. Ultra sensitive or shy men are not usually the most attractive men to these women, as they tend to prefer strong and independent types. Men who don't beat around the bush, who state what they want, and who display a certain level of confidence are ideal. If a woman's Mars is in Taurus, she is often attracted to men who possess a stable, secure, and very strong aura about them. Meat-and-potatoes types are definitely these women's "cup of tea". Unstable, overly intellectual, or "flaky" men are simply not what these women would define "real men". These women like their men simple to please, traditionally masculine, and strong. They often are especially turned on by men who work with their hands (as opposed to "suits"), men who can build things, and sexually simple but sensual men. If a woman's Mars is in Gemini, intelligence ranks very high on her list of ideal qualities in a man. An athletic or tomboyish look, sometimes on the slim side, is often preferred. Wittiness is a huge turn-on for these women. Versatility, liveliness, and playfulness are qualities in men that these women find devastatingly attractive. They're not especially impressed with what they might consider "less evolved" types of men who display more typical, or traditional, masculine traits. Depressed or boring types won't do. These women want to be stimulated, and their brains are their biggest sexual organs. If a woman's Mars is in Cancer, she may prefer the "sensitive type" of man who is compassionate, sensitive, and protective. These women sometimes are attracted to temperamental sorts, finding moodiness in a man rather intriguing. They want men with "layers" (remember Shrek?). However, they are not into the type of "sensitive" men that Mars in Pisces women are most attracted to. In fact, they generally want men who are strong and traditionally masculine. Generally, these women prefer men who are physically strong or at least look that way--remember that they love to feel protected.
If a woman's Mars is in Leo, she may be attracted to men who are proud, outgoing, and perhaps even gaudy. Aloofness or a dignified, confident aura is usually appealing to these women. These women are more inclined to enjoy men who possess a rather bold, confident manner--and style ! Playfulness and fun are very important to these women, and the uptight type or overly serious man is not going to do it for them. Stinginess is a huge turn-off, too. These women want their men generous, dignified, and confident. These women do want their men to be a little possessive and jealous, as it makes them feel more alive, wanted, and attractive. If a woman's Mars is in Virgo, an appealing man to her is usually an understated, rather simple appearance without too much glamour or ostentatiousness. Healthy, natural, and clean are most appealing physical qualities, and a certain amount of intelligence as well as a modest, sensible approach to life. These women are turned off by men who are overly confident, bossy, or unkind. They are looking for perceptive men who are kind and helpful. Competency is important, but these women aren't big on men who are show-offs. A quietly competent aura is best. If a woman's Mars is in Libra, she is most attracted to men with understated charm, good manners, and a pleasing and balanced appearance. Coarseness or rudeness is often a turn-off, and so is independence! These women prefer men who are cooperative and who are willing to please. Romantic men are a huge turn-on, and these women truly appreciate classy sorts. If a woman's Mars is in Scorpio, a complicated, dark, powerful, and passionate man is the biggest turn-on. This woman wants a man with "layers"--one who has depth and is complicated enough to intrigue her. She is especially attracted to men who ooze sensuality, who are perhaps a little dark and mysterious (even brooding), and who have a magnetic and powerful aura. Intensity is a turn-on for these women--flighty, superficial, and indifferent types need not apply! These women generally do enjoy a certain level of possessiveness in a man.
If a woman's Mars is in Sagittarius, she is most impressed with a man who is playful, fun, intelligent, and honest. An energetic, happy aura in a man is often most appealing. Joking around is a must, and a huge turn-on for these women! They want to have a good time, and to have long conversations with their men as well. They are not especially attracted to men who are overly groomed, generally don't like too much "decoration" or men who put on airs. A tousled, casual appearance is just fine with these women--in fact, it's preferred. A man's status is not of huge interest to these women--they are looking for honest guys whose egos aren't tied up in what they do for a living or how they look. If a woman's Mars is in Capricorn, she is generally attracted to competent men, perhaps well-established business types or otherwise accomplished men. She doesn't necessarily go for status, but she does want a man who has an aura of competence about him. She is looking for a certain level of security, and is unimpressed with men who are drifters, irresponsible, or flighty. A stable, directed man with goals in life and a responsible, even serious, attitude to life is important to this woman. If a woman's Mars is in Aquarius, she can be most impressed by men who are somewhat unconventional or kooky in their choice of clothes and overall style . She wants an interesting man. He can certainly be handsome, but boring? Hardly. A man with a brain is important, although she won't be attracted to a brainy type. Somebody who is perceptive, a little unconventional, and perhaps somewhat aloof is most attractive. Rigid or boring types simply won't do. If a woman's Mars is in Pisces, she is often impressed with a man who is sensitive, compassionate, and intriguingly complicated. Lacking in confidence is just fine, and so is a touch of helplessness. A "starving artist" type may be appealing, or a man who is downtrodden in some way, as these women enjoy men who have a distinct soft side. The strong, independent types are not turn-ons for these women.

I haves Venus in Scorpio and yes, I love the mysterious type. Thats why I love librarians. Im always like, whats behind that modest attire and those glasses. I need to know. The femme fatale attracts me because Im adventurous and daring and i need a woman like that. Like If i said, "Hey lets go to the X-Games." she would say, "X-games, but you dont do any of those things, you dont even own a skateboard." and Id say.....'Thats exactly why I want to go. It will be an adventure.'

So is this to say that Mars plays a more prominent role in dictating what a woman is attracted to than it does for a guy, and vice-versa for men? Or, is it the same for both, and you just didn't want to bother with posting the same things twice? Sorry if I'm missing the obvious; Lately I've been trying to make it a point to ask more questions instead of assuming so much, and in turn 'making an ass out of u and me' :-)

i thought it was about father figure/archetype that a woman looks for (thus the Sun/Mars is Masculine) The man's chart: their Moon/Venus (Female, mother womb, Eve, lilith) All the wonderful, scary things that women represent to men. Then maybe they just put in the mythology because it kind of ties into symbolism as well.
"If a woman's Mars is in Pisces, she is often impressed with a man who is sensitive, compassionate, and intriguingly complicated. Lacking in confidence is just fine, and so is a touch of helplessness. A "starving artist" type may be appealing, or a man who is downtrodden in some way, as these women enjoy men who have a distinct soft side. The strong, independent types are not turn-ons for these women." Ha, somewhat true. Number one is the complication, or depth and intelligence. And starving artist and downtrodden in some fashion grabs my attention, but absolutely do i not keep them around for long or consider them as potential, ESPECIALLY if they lack confidence. So that part is off for me. Complete confidence is a turn-on and the minute i detect lack of confidence is a slight turn-off for me. But i can see why they would say that since Pisces in a lot of planets often means you're for the underdog.
"If a woman's Mars is in Cancer, she may prefer the "sensitive type" of man who is compassionate, sensitive, and protective. These women sometimes are attracted to temperamental sorts, finding moodiness in a man rather intriguing. They want men with "layers" (remember Shrek?). Men who don't beat around the bush, who state what they want, and who display a certain level of confidence are ideal." This is so true for me. In my case I have a Cancer Mars Conjunct my Sun and Ascendant all in the 1st house. So I love a combination of the two. I LOVE aggressive, and strong masculine men (who do the typical man things like like sports, drink beer, work on cars etc.) who also value their home, family and friends. BUT I also need him to be a total softie on the inside. I typically attract those types anyway where they are outwardly bad boys or abrasive and then on the inside mush balls. In fact the guy I was crazy about and it took me FOREVER to get over was an Aqua Sun, Virgo Moon, Pisces Mercury, Cap Venus (Conjunct Neptune), Aries Mars (Conjunct his IC), and Cap Asc (Conjunct Neptune). He was the perfect blend of Air, Fire, and Water for me. He was aggressive and assertive (a la Aries Mars), but would fiercely defend his family and friends (Mars Conjunct IC in the 4th), and a total emotional softie.

If a man's Venus is in Sagittarius, an energetic, happy aura in a woman is often most appealing. Generally these men are attracted to a clean, robust, athletic look, generally slim but not necessarily well-groomed. A tousled, casual appearance is just fine with these men. Yes yes

Venus in Cancer here. Not true at all. I'm way too detached and outgoing for such softy types, and I don't appreciate clingy personalities at all. That's a turn-off. It must be that 7th house in Aqua.

That's probably true too, since it has aspects with Air-influenced planets, asteroids and fixed stars both in Gemini and Aquarius.

Interesting, I'm working on a theory........ Bare with me I have a few more questions. Are you more emotionally drawn toward the airy types? Is that the basis for your attraction, you emotionally connect with them? Are you a Sag moon, I assumed so based on the glyphs in your avatar.

hey it's good to see SOME AIR mars here, as there's a TON of FIRE mars women here.

This is the best description I've read for Mars and Venus in Aquarius, though I have to say I'm still not in agreement with the aloofness and kooky sense of fashion--when I hear kooky style , I just think of Phobe from Friends--and that certainly is unattractive to me. In terms of men with a kooky sense of fashion uh no thank you, I don't find men dressed in Pimp daddy yellow suits to be very appealing :x As far as liking someone with a bit of a personality--unconventional in the sense that they don't like doing what everyone else does for the sake of being like everyone else--that's attractive, but weird quirky personalities with a tinge of nerdiness uhhh no thank you. Free spirits with great sense of humor, fun loving, with a natural magnetism and spark to them are what I'm attracted too...doesn't seem to read Aquarius too much. ****************************************************************************************************** One question though, for a man's venus that's the type of woman he finds attractive, but does the woman have to match his venus with her mars? So if a man's venus were to be in Aqua, does that mean the woman would have to have a mars in Aquarius? Or is her ability to fit into his "type" rely more on her sun sign and more outward personality?

Then its probably your personality, maybe you come off as very independent, strong with tough skin. So it would be that tomboy spirit exemplified in how you see things and interact with others, not necessarily your personal interest in athletic hobbies. But who knows I'm sure not attracted to aloofness or quirky types but I sure do seem to attract those.

hm i've NEVER been attracted to kooky types either. Gross. or too nice guys. Aries dominant/Aries venus men, are NOT exactly "nice guys"....hard to explain. They can be very gentlemanly but they are not nicey nice types from what i've experienced. I remember when my ex would get drunk, he'd want to kick the asses of anyone around him who was TOO nice. I know it was really messed up, but that was how he was under intoxication. The too nice guy would be running like a baby pissing between his pants. It was terrible!! me and my gf at the time (she brought over some nice guys for a party my ex was having) and then he just went APE -shit!! holy hell. I'll never forget it. Many things/events you just can't forget. I was hoping the guy was going to DEFEND himself but he didn't. He just ran crying. It was horrible.

Posted by enfant_terrible Yeah but mythology is mythology.... it's fairytales basically. Astrology is supposedly "scientific", I mean we are all here because we see the patterns and we believe in it even if it hasn't been scientifically proven. But if astrologers have been using Venus as a symbol for love and sexuality simply because of its mythological value, then where does it leave astrology? It would be just bogus, wouldn't it? I've been wrestling with this for quite some time.
Hahaha I'd say because I'm sure not feeling my Mars and Venus placements in Aquarius.

Mallory, i believe the problem is, despite you having your venus and mars in aquarius, you attract those aloof, kooky types/ but it is UNREQUITED. So they fall for you, but you want nothing to do with them. I bet you attract EVERY type. if you do attract all types, the good news is, you can choose which one you want.

I think I do but its the kooky ones that make the move, the other ones I have to always hear of their interest from a third party and with me I can't help but beat myself and say well that must be a lie, because if they did they'd approach. And then there's that matter of should you approach a guy or leave them to assume the traditional role of the dominate male.

i feel sorry for you, honestly, to attract those kooky ones. And if you're single they're gonna keep coming. *shakeshead* I always get the strong-willed, aggressive ones, or the silent, strong, confident ones. (from experience) and i'm HAPPY that i do get them. Plus i'm married so, it sure feels damned GOOD to be not in the singles section like some of you all are. It's just that I feel compassion for you ladies and gents. Unless of course if some of you all are cruel, then I don't feel compassion at all. lol but to be serious.....ugh, girl, so what do you do to get those gross kooky ones out of your path? That's just horrible.
We hear so much about men being ???from Mars?? ??? and in a lot of ways this is true, at least astrologically. In general, they tend to relate more to their natal Mars positions and project their Venuses out onto the women (or male partners, if gay) in their lives. This is in line with the Jungian concept of anima/animus (inner woman or inner man) projections that each of us embody. But this also tells us a great deal about what men are looking for in a mate. A man??s natal Venus sign placement describes not only what he??s attracted to, but how he??s likely to conduct himself in relationship. It tells us how he expresses love and affection, how he receives love and affection from others, and how he relates to his partner in a one-on-one relationship. It tells what he??s looking for in a soulmate and how capable he is of investing himself emotionally in soul mate relationships. While this is just a very small sampling of what you can expect from someone whose natal Venus is in any one of the following 12 signs, I thought it would be fun (and helpful) to break them all down. Please remember that the sign placement is only one part of the equation. Astrologers look at house placement, aspects, rulerships, degrees and dignities to get a much fuller and more comprehensive picture. But with that in mind, let??s look at all the different turn-ons (and turn-offs) for each of the zodiacal archetypes: Venus in Aries: What turns them on: Strong, dynamic, energetic people. Those who are self-reliant and capable of standing on their own two feet. Those who are constantly evolving and re-inventing themselves. Forward thinkers, mavericks, risk-takers. Courage, bravery, fearlessness. Movers and shakers. People who are always a bit ahead of the game and not afraid to try something new. What turns them off: Clingy, dependent, needy or insecure people. Those who need a lot of reassurance or who have to constantly ???check-in.?? Partners who demand a lot of time or attention; or who don??t have their own interests outside of their relationships. Manipulation or passive-aggression. Indecision. Laziness. Passivity. Complacency. Games. Anything that becomes old, tired, stale or routine. Posted by lisabethur8 Plus i'm married so, it sure feels damned GOOD to be not in the singles section like some of you all are. It's just that I feel compassion for you ladies and gents. Unless of course if some of you all are cruel, then I don't feel compassion at all. lol
Instead of "feeling" compassion, you should respect other people's choices. Absolutely everything in this world happens for a reason.

Posted by lisabethur8 i feel sorry for you, honestly, to attract those kooky ones. That's just horrible.
