Capricorn and Cancer?

I have this male cap friend that I have always liked. We have known each other for several years. And even though we are long distance, we have had talks of relationship and things of that nature. Our conversations are usually very "steamy". I am a female cancer. We have conversations in spurts. It's like we talk for a while and then he kind of disappears off the face of the planet and I don't hear from him for a few months. But when we start talking again, it is like we never stopped talking. I know he says he is really busy with work and school, but he also parties a LOT. Ok, so he says he likes me and says he would love the chance to pursue a relationship with me. So my question is, based on his sign, despite the fact that our relationship has spurts, is he being honest, does he really feel that way? Does he really like me, and feel for me? With me being a cancer and him a cap, could it work? And how do I "hook" him?

I am a cancer, and I think I have a moon in Scorpio. He is a cappy and I think he has a moon in Pisces. If I am reading all of this right, that is what we are.

You can't have a relationship with someone or expect to have one....then disappear and come back like nothing.
