How do you deal with your 5th house matters?

In my case, Sagittarius occupies them with totally casual and carefree attitude, that's for sure. It's like: "I threw this massive partypocalypse near the beach and I never thought that sh*t will be so big. Later, I was about to have a wild bed adventure with 2 ladies, but I forgot to buy myself some condoms and when I decided to head to the drug store, I ended up in the gambling part of the whole event. Guess what? I lost most of my money, but I don't care about that, because I'll be back on the top! What did you say? What?! No! I'm not responsible for all of this! Let's get the f*ck out of here!"

Aren't you supposed to look at the sign of your own cusp and find it's ruler (instead of looking at the natural ruler of the house) ?

That's what I thought. For example, I have Leo on the cusp of my 3rd house and Leo's home house is the 5th, so ruler of 5th in 3rd.

Actually I have the tail end of Leo on the 7th but the Sun is parked in there. And I looked at the description for ruler of the 4th in the 5th and it was... well, not fitting to say the least.

That's what I thought. For example, I have Leo on the cusp of my 3rd house and Leo's home house is the 5th, so ruler of 5th in 3rd.
Not to be even more confusing but I thought the ruler was a planet (for example leo's ruler is the sun, cancer's ruler is the moon etc) so you'd have to look at the sign at the start of the house, then the related planet and it's placement?
I took a peak at your profile and with your chart this would make this: the start of your 5th house is in libra -> venus is the planet that rules libra -> your venus is in the 11th house -> so the ruler of your 5th house is in the 11th house...
At least that's how I usually read this kind of topic lol, but I think I'll just wait for Jynja's take on this.

Yeah, I get it. If the start of my 2nd house is Cancer, Moon rules Cancer, Moon is in the 8th house... so ruler of my 2nd is in the 8th. Jeez. Gotta re-read all this now, correctly. What if you have no planets in a certain house tho? And we all do since there are 10 astrological planets and 12 houses. :/

I have Pisces on 5th house cusp, empty. So.. ruler of Pisces is 12th house = 12th house ruler in 5th house?
Pisces is ruled by Neptune.
If Neptune is in, say, your 9th House--
Then you would say that the ruler of your 5th House is the 9th, since Pisces is on the 5th House cusp.
