How to Guess Someone's Astrological Sign

Look for people with strong personalities. Are they confident in their habits? Do they display distinct qualities that most people do not possess? Do you know the person rather well? If so, this person may be a good candidate for analysis. On the other hand, does the person tend to act like everyone else? Is the person shy or introverted, even after you get to know them? If so, it will be very difficult to guess their sign.



Recognize sign-specific qualities. Each sign has qualities that are dead giveaways.

Aries - Loud, avoids conflict, makes lots of noise, or likes to sing, very forceful undertones to their voice(Mostly males), powerful and very confident.

Taurus - Self-indulgent, likes nice things, boring, dull

Gemini - A good arguer, witty, flirtatious, playful but may come across as offensive

Cancer - Very sensitive, moody, romantic, nice

Leo - Proud, confident, likes attention, bold/dramatic attitude, smart, intelligent and a good decision maker.

Virgo - Performs tasks methodically, can be dull and plain, enjoys drama

Libra - Indecisive, flirtatious, magnetic/ very attractive, very good sentence structures, frivolous, beautiful

Scorpio - Possessive, secretive, stubborn/selfish, self-confident, loyal

Sagittarius - Adventurous, independent, brave, intelligent,

Capricorn - Stubborn, argumentative, mature/reserved character

Aquarius - Loves to help others, optimistic, enthusiastic, charismatic, good looking, intelligent, cold and indifferent, eccentric

Pisces - Sensitive, friendly, compatible

Examine their appearance. If none of the obvious signs are there, look at the person carefully. What strikes you most about how they look?

Aries: High set and narrow facial bones, broad foreheads, strong, well-proportioned body, dark or sandy colored hair, strong eyebrows as well as clear and penetrating eyes.

Taurus: Bright childlike eyes, full lips, small/even teeth, and thick hair. Also well built, and usually quite tall.

Gemini: A devilish smile, full lips, average height, a well-proportioned chin, high cheekbones, long fingers, slim, deep eyes.

Cancer: Closer-set small eyes, innocent facial features, usually brunette, a round face, good jawline, and a full mouth. In essence, the upper body is invariably larger in proportion to the lower, which may make for a rather clumsy or top-heavy bodily appearance at times.

Leo: Glamorous, thick mane-like dark hair, large eyes, proud and confident expression(resembles a lion), usually tall, with thin waists, trim athletic legs

Virgo: Fair, nicely shaped lips, clear eyes, refined symmetrical features, a high forehead, long arms, and narrow eyebrows, straight nose, often tall and slim.

Libra: Dimples on the cheeks, nose, knees, or elbows, chiseled lips, roundish head, refined features, a high forehead, glossy hair.

Scorpio: Attractive eyes, on average have dark or sandy hair. Usually wide smiles, high set foreheads, rosy cheeks, well shaped chins.

Sagittarius: Large attractive eyes, chiseled facial-set, usually have a well-shaped skull, a high, broad forehead, a well formed figure.

Capricorn: Good bone structure, usually a square jaw, wide-set steady eyes, dark hair, unlikely to be pale, capable hands, tall, and prominent cheek bones.

Aquarius: A friendly and approachable expression, vague expression, finely chiseled features, above average height. Their eyes usually convey remoteness and have a dreamy quality. Aquarians also have average noses and lips that are full at the center and thin out toward the edges, physically attractive.

Pisces: Innocent features, delicate expression, Pisces natives tend to be middle to short stature with short limbs. They lean toward corpulence (obesity) in their later years.

Face - People born in the Spring tend to have an attractive face (not necessarily handsome or pretty, just striking): Aries, Taurus and Gemini

Features - People born in the Summer tend to have exceptional skin and hair (hair does not have to be straight, just glamorous): Cancer, Leo, Virgo

Movements - People born in the Fall tend to have natural, attractive gestures and movements: Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius

Body - People born in the winter usually have a strong, attractive body: Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces


Learn about astrological masculinity/femininity. It has little to do with being macho or girly. In fact, men with astrological femininity often compensate by acting macho (working out, claiming to be promiscuous or tough) and women with astrological masculinity often compensate by acting girly (wearing girly clothes and makeup, claiming to be emotional).

Astrologically masculine qualities: Independent, dates a lot, travels a lot, energetic, active, headstrong, talkative, confident, open-minded, rude, sexual, flirtatious, prefers to pursue a mate

Astrologically feminine qualities: Prefers long-term relationships, prefers to stay at home, needs more sleep, methodical, considerate, reliable, kind, stubborn, depends on others, polite, shy, prudish, prefers to be pursued

Here is the approximate ranking of signs from most masculine to most feminine: Aries, Sagittarius, Leo, Aquarius, Gemini, Libra, Capricorn, Scorpio, Taurus, Pisces, Cancer, Virgo

Note that Libra and Capricorn are the astrological dandies (50% masculine, 50% feminine) of the zodiac. They tend to like long-term relationships but are quite sexual. Libras are prettier, like to be surrounded by friends and are more active in pursuit of a mate, while Capricorns are more unique looking, and prefer to have alone time and love to be pursued. Both have a good balance of confidence and sensitivity/empathy, which makes their personalities attractive.

Become familiar with the elements.

Fire (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius): Physical and active, tends to be passionate, confident, talented, charismatic, in good shape, into sports. In a word, the "doers."

Earth (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn): Physical and passive, tends to be introverted, confident, reliable, consistent, plain and dull. In a word, the "workers."

Air (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius): Mental and active, intelligent, energetic, charming, good with words, articulate, optimistic. In a word, the "talkers."

Water (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces): Mental and passive, emotional or sensitive, likes to read, fantasize, look at art. In a word, the "feelers."

Observe their behavior, especially in conflicts or while working in groups. We all learn to hide our inner feelings to some degree while in public. People usually display their astrological traits in relationships and tense interactions. Refer to the element for the nature of the reaction that they will use (for example, Aries' first reaction when faced with conflict is to yell or threaten, Gemini will talk his/her way out of it, Cancer usually responds with an emotional outburst, Taurus responds to conflict with silence and a posture of strength, etc.):

Cardinal (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn): Usually responds to conflict with a bold, decisive, instinctive action in an attempt to trump the assault. Easily motivated to start tasks.

Fixed (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius): Tends to hold in their reaction and respond that the attempt to hurt them was futile, with passive aggressive behavior or with silence. Concentrates on finishing things well.

Mutable (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces): Tends to be artful with conflicts, coming up with the perfect thing to say to egg the other person on or make them realize that conflict is pointless. Good at motivating people.

Pay attention to the age of the person's sign, Aries being the youngest and Pisces being the oldest. The younger signs tend to display quick tempers and be more selfish and eager to learn while the older signs are wiser, more compassionate and more set in their ways

Fire signs are easy to recognize but sometimes difficult to tell apart. Leo cares a lot about his/her image and what other people think but rarely admits it; Sagittarius is good with words, tactful and coy but has the same energy, ambition and independent attitude as Aries. Aries is youthful, impulsive and aggressive and only cares about what others think when it is necessary.

Libra and Aquarius are difficult to tell apart. Libra is actively flirtatious and adds a theatrical flair to everything. Aquarius is more independent, and mixes a strong, mature attitude with the typical airy talkativeness.

Sometimes people will display the qualities of a neighboring sign. Virgo is usually shy and reserved, but when attracting a mate is necessary, he or she will reach over into Libra or Leo for the tools to flirt. Similarly, Aries and Gemini can be equally as enthusiastic about food and drink as Taurus, but their focus is usually on other things. It's not uncommon for your guess to be one off. A person's sign traits will come out when they are in their natural state--when they are not trying too hard.

Don't jump to conclusions. Astrological traits are usually quite glaring.
~"I'm so mad at my boyfriend for breaking up with me, I want to get back at him." That's a normal emotional response to a highly charged situation.
~If a girl likes to keep her room or domicile clean and tidy and the pictures straight, that is normal behavior.
~If a girl senses that a guy is about to propose and takes him to a jeweler to drop hints that he should buy the exact ring that she has had her eye on for the last two years, that is Virgo-like behavior.

For practice, guess someones sign to yourself and then ask their birthday to check and see if you're right. Most people will think you are small-talking and not think anything of it.

Each sun sign gives off different vibes--very subtle character traits that can't be put into words. Guessing right takes a lot of practice, so don't worry if you guess wrong at first.

Don't go around guessing people's signs indiscriminately. It's weird. There's a right place and time for this kind of thing.

Some people think astrology is evil and others think it is a myth, so be careful whose sign you guess.

Remember to take astrology with a grain of salt.

I can always recognize Scorpios right away...mostly it's because every Scorpio I have ever met thinks the Zodiac is complete rubbish...why is that?

Other people are like...yes, no, maybe...whatever...but Scorpios I have met are very strong in their disbelief.

They seem to get cranky when you talk about it...then I will say...you're a Scorpio aren't you?...and they will be...D'OH!!!
