Moon Eclipsing the Sun

Here is a very interesting Marilyn Manson lyric that has recently caught my ear.
"Prick your finger/ it is done/ the moon has now eclipsed the sun/ angel has spread its wings/ the time has come for bitter things."
What do you think the significance of the moon eclipsing the sun is? Why would it lead to bitter things? With the fact in mind that Manson is a Capricorn sun with a Leo moon would you say that it could have any astrological significance.
I have no idea-- sounds like the drawing of blood is where the emphasis may be.
The part about pricking the finger is the part that actually has me the most confused. I feel that by Manson saying that the moon has eclipsed the sun he is saying that, when he plays a show, it is the devils time to call the shots. But why someone should prick their finger then I don't know.
I also feel like he might be referencing the fact that, when he plays a show, his Leo moon is eclipsing the influence of his Capricorn sun, which is an interesting conjecture.

Interesting I'm also a Capricorn Sun and Leo Moon.
Nice dude it seems like a really good combination, like your Capricorn sun would provide plenty of stable earth for the Leo moon to burn up.

Yeah... I heard that this combination likes to lead.
Is it true with you?

Yup. I don't like to take orders from people. I like to take charge.
Yea actually i think i remember something about a deal with a devil having to be signed in blood, so it could be imagery for signing a contract with the devil, who is represented by the moon.
