Role Models

How important do you think it is to have, at some stage during your life, a role model? By this I mean someone that you admire and try to model yourself on. Do you look at people and think that you could incorporate some parts of their personality in to yours? I suppose this would happen during the early stages of your lives as it would be harder to change major personality traits as you get older. And Im not suggesting that you become an imposter of another person, just that you take inspiration from the way a person acts or deals with other people.
I mean everyone surely has had a person that theyve admired to some extent? Or have you always felt contempt with who you are? And if so at what stage in your life did you feel comfortable and confident with who you are and that you didnt have to change? Should be interesting to hear from some aquarians on this one, with their need to be so different and all.
Yes its good to have multiple role models, Id have to agree. I think its wise to suggest that you can learn a little something off of everyone you meet. Im only 19 and still have a fairly impressionable personality i think. Like I often meet people and think to myself "hmm i like the way they handle themselves in these type of situations etc" I wouldnt say that i tried to impersonate them but i do take inspiration from the ways people handle themselves in crisises, arguments etc. Do you think this is a positive way to try to improve yourself, or do you think you should just concentrate on what you believe is the correct way to handle yourslef? A balance between the two is the best option i believe.
