To me, it's being a professional athlete.
What do you think is the best occupation?
A whore I would make a great whore and I would love my job but I am the wrong sex. DAM!
Are you James? Ever see Midnight Cowboy?
I had forgot about that movie the first x rated movie to win the big prize.
James, do you remeber Godley and Creme? From the 80's? Kevin Godley who is now a music video director lives in your county--(Kent) It must be beautiful there right now...
A radio talk show host.
Yeeahh, that's a good job to have but you will need some TV media coverage to keep you as "high profile"--like Larry King or Charlie Rose. Otherwise, you could get nixed by network execs.
I was wanting to be a host kind of like Phil Hendrie, where he does a show thats like a parody of everything. Do you know who he is? I know he does his show from LA. But I would have to come up with an original idea for a show or else Clear Channel wouldnt hire me. Doesn't Clear Channel pretty much own the radio?
Uhmmm, i can't make up my mind... Only kidding. I'm a libran right? I'm supposed to be indecisive...
The best job in the world has got to be that of a writer... Although a successful artist is very enticing as well.
If its are you are dead 150 years before you are famous.
Hmm. Mebbe.. a book critic, or.. editor of publishing house.
I wouldn't be able to take all that reading--it would fry my brain cells after two weeks. Don't get me wrong-I like to read. Had to do script coverage at Paramount once..but then, being a writer or publisher, it would take a good amount of time to reach a successful staus--IF you can that is, right?
Ergh.. Good point. Proofreading's easier than writing tho.
And think of all the first editions you'd get to keep!
Hard cover, thank you very much. That and speed reading.
Oh but think about the joy of creation! You get to hold in your hands, YOUR BOOK, words that came from YOU! It's like taking a part of yourself and letting it go for everyone to see. It's expression of the soul. It's worth the trouble.
There might have been a time I'd have written something, but I think it's past. I'm in that "I know I know nothing phase" here. But I can easily understand the thrill of seeing one's self in print. It's brave, it's bold, it's.. kinda scary, that.
You mentioned as second choice, sucessful artist. I don't feel gifted musically, or painting-wise, but "hands-on",.. like crafts, I think I could.
Sculpting, no. Pottery, Stained Glass, etc. Big Yes.
Both writing and crafting have merit. But you are more brave than I, in the realm of letting words & thoughts run rhamphant; frolic freely in the big world.
Forgot my intial point. I do like being near the spotlight. The people, new ideas, etc. Hence the wish to be critic or publisher, etc. I don't feel the need to be a "thing" in order to like it. (Like, not an actor, but enjoy movies.)
I like to be made to think. I surprise myself. Journalism & creative writing (and the people who do so) are a part of that. Thank you very much. (Slides soap box left of center.)
One of those people who works for the Travel Channel, testing out all the fancy hotels and dining at all the fancy restaurants, etc. smile
As far as writing, if I thought I could make serious money doing it, then it would be an option. For now I will settle for pouring my soul out to my journal.
Espernaut, is there any Leo in your chart?
Be careful with journal's they're dangerous things if people obscond with them and read their contents... Then you have to kill them to keep them silent... And that eventually becomes a little messy and complicated.
Nice pick, Travel Channel reviewer.
My venus sign is Leo. Is that very telling? And.. Why?
i think venus has something to do with the way you love others..hmm..
and the best job in the world>>??? sheep herding. LOL.
That's true. Impulsive, "want-it-right-now" etc. Hmmm.
You see the conundrum there? It's a flood gate thing.
Re: sheep herding.. Imagine, all that free Lanolin.
impulsive good, spontinaity even better... nothin wrong with a lil' leo lovin
and sheep herding... I'd rather not.
Espernaut (and I have another question, what does your username mean? It's very interesting, I always think of "astronaut" when I see it Winking )... anyway, yes, the Leo thing is telling. smile Why? It shows, in small ways.
(I know, could I be more vague?)
Morgan & Journaling
"then you have to kill them.. eventually becomes a little messy and complicated."
You know, I'm thinking "bodyguard" as a alternate career path for you. Your own schedule, pick your posts, nice duds, stilletto heels.. etc. (not stilleto heels, a stilletto in the heels.) Think razor girl in Xmen.
Phoenix
I wanted something to remind me about traveling and finding out things, about me & others. (people, ideas, etc). Cosmo-naut sounded odd, and gave the wrong impression. Ether-naut had merit. Astral-naut just made me laugh. Esper conjures up an inner journey to be made (to me anyway). I liked it.
About this Leo business now, and it's telling in small ways.. I think you're referring to the religious post I answered earlier. It's the only thing so far that got my dander up. I'm in my own catholic recovery rehab over here.
Growing up catholic messes up your mind. Guilt, flail, flog.
Of course, if that Wasn't where you got it. Please do tell me. I'm Virgo with Capricorn rising. Doesn't feel too up & at em' to me.
Shy, retiring, reclusive types need look no further..
We hath arrived ~~~
Oh, hey look at that, a post I forgot to respond to. Oh boy do I suck! smile
I was not referring to anything religious you'd said. I was basing my thoughts on your interactions with people on the boards. Particularly the women. Just kidding. Winking
No.. No harm no foul. I'd bookmarked it because I liked it.
Learning about my Enforced Religious Tyranny (and successive brilliant, mind bending escape there of...) well, that's just icing for the cake. I'm glad you made it, btw.
Sputter.. Wha? Owh, wot about my thoughts re interactions female~being~type~people on the boards?? No, now.. do tell.
Re: my thoughts on your interactions with female-being-type-people...It's nothing...she says, batting eyelashes. Tongue
You're good for me ... and that's ... very bad. ')
LOL, I love inside-ish jokes Tongue
Crimmy.. I lost an eye!!
not *your* eyelashes, silly. lol.
Tisk.. you're supposed to be Reading.. RIF Gurl.
Well, since you're Here and all.. Whatcha dewin?
I got done reading like fifteen minutes ago. I think I'm confused, I'm not sure whether you're still writing me another one, or if I'm supposed to respond now. lol.
That's what I'm doing. Being confused. lol.
What are eeewe doing?
LOL Ok.. I'd hoped you'd be responding as well. Part Deux .. Men in Tights and such.
For goodness sake, at least expand on the "online" name eh?
