The commonest planets occuring in natal charts

This topic was created in the Astrology forum by Fierce Dravidian on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 and has 30 replies.
Which planets in your observations have been a common feature of natal charts? Which planets are they? I understand that this forum doesn't have a poll option besides not having several basic options common to many forums and even then I wouldn't know how to formulate a poll considering planetry influences. So from an informal and subjective standpoint what are the commonest planets occuring in natal charts?
Jupiter and Neptune? I was considering Mercury.
Actually we all have certain dominant signs, planets and house placements in our own individual birth-charts; some influencing us ALOT more than others. It's varied and quite different for everyone. Many professional astrologers now like to use percentages to gauge strength, which i like. For myself, i have signs Pisces-Aquarius and house 11 and 5 most dominant in my chart, etc, etc...

Oh s lol I screwed up this topic.
Mystic Fish the dominant signs would be the Sun, Moon and Ascendant signs?
Wrong title - except that then it would be too simplistic right?
Saturn influence for Capricorn and Aquarius.
Jupiter influence for Pisces and Sagittarius.
Venus influence for Taurus and Libra, damn I don't know what I was thinking about. My title should have been rephrased or something I don't know.
check out the url of the site i provided Fierce, and scroll down..*that's what i was talking about, trying to explain, anyway..*it takes the entire chart into account..and sums up your dominant signs, planets and house placements by percentages. i had this done on my own chart awhile back..*it's really eye-opening, and gives a much better analysis.
"Pisces. Everyone's got to have Pisces somewhere right?"
I have absolutely zero planets in Pisces, I dodged it completly and for this I am exceptionally greatful.
I think it would be a lot more constant to measure elements than actual signs as signs are going to be completely random. You have a one in twelve chance across the board and it is completly dtermined by external factors IE time and place. So, theoretically the only trend you should observe as far as individual signs is going to be effected by population density.
For example, in Las Lngeles you are going to have a much larger chance of finding more people with a specific sign in a specific place than podunk Iowa, because there is a higher probability of someone being born at a cirtain time due to population considering the place remains constant.
I guess you could study a large group of people in a fixed geographic location and see if any trends not affected by geography pop up, but place and time of conception are the only two factors you can control, so they have to be fixed some how. But then it's pretty much rigged, and the point is lost. Damnit.
We should populate six islands with two signs apiece, have them fight for survival and the winner moves on to the next island of winners bracket style until there is only one sign left. Contact me for betting iformation.
I must have been jitterbuggish soweee people. My most common planet is Pluto and Libra - Venus I guess - Mystic beauty I will post some of the complicated stuff in a Mercurial moment and maybe you can interpret it.
Mine's something like this
Sun Gemini
Moon Cancer

Fierce, your natal interpretation should show up very last, beneath your chart wheel page...*there's a few extra points i'd like to add, but this fish needs to get some zzzzzz'z now.. smile
Thank you Mystic, I was hoping for your own impression.
Hey Fierce, i'm looking at your chart now, will get back to you..s~
Hi Fierce,
First off, interesting to see you were born in the third decan of Gemini (sub-ruler of Uranus/Aqua) very same decan as Donald Trump, VERY cool, btw! .. Winking As i looked at your chart, the first impression that jumps out for me, is the strength of your rising sign/Scorpio ascendant...wow!! i don't know why, but i always sensed a scorpio energy in you, sometime even thinking you were a scorpio sun..lol* As an airy Geminian sun, this will surely add alot of intensity, passion, emotion and depth to your chart in general, since your rising sign, not technically a planet, is much more like a filter and more or less (shades) everything you do...! So as a Scorp rising, not only are you clever, creative and resourceful, but your brain is always ticking, perusing, investigating things. You are very observant. You also have much will-power and determination and seem to somehow know what others are thinking.. As well, most rising scorpios can have a reputation for sharp, biting temper if crossed, but may still feel remoreful later on, even if the victor..! So although Mercury is your sun-sign ruler, the planet Pluto is also VERY prominant in your birthchart, and is actually your Natal Chart Ruler..*it's helpful to know which house and sign your chart ruler is deposited in; which for you is Pluto in Libra in House 11...Although Libra promotes peace and harmony; in dark powerful planet Pluto, it may also bring disruptions or challenges in your close/personal relationships. But remember knowledge is power, there really are no absolutions in life, only apathy and inaction, imo. Add to this your watery Cancerian moon, and you are TRULY more of an emotional, feeling, sympathetic type of Gemini!!
Another interesting placement you have in your chart Fierce, is also a very enviable one; and that is your Venus-Mars conjunct (same sign) ..in a tight orb of only 2 degrees! People with this type of aspect effortlessly exude a natural, raw sex-appeal, charm and very likely, good looks. So you are very fortunate indeed! i've noticed so many of the most successful/famous talents have this aspect, as well. IMO, a great position if one were to go into modeling/the arts, it certainly helps promote a charming, appealing, attractive image/aura, at any rate... + powerful Pluto Rising on your ascendant gives you a very strong presence. (just to note; America's sun-sign is in Cancer, so having either the sun or moon in same sign as your country, is an added bonus!)
FD, You have 4 TRINES: (Trines are considered to be highly beneficial aspects, instilling good fortune.)
Moon Trine Uranus -mentally alert and able to absorb knowledge easily. You relate well to people because you listen well, and appreciate the opinions of others. Your thinking integrates experiences of the past with a clear vision of future possiblilities. Your colorful expression is original and imaginative!
Mercury Trine Pluto -You have an ability to get to the roots of an issue in a mental sense. Your concentration is intense, allowing you, if you so choose, to probe the depths of little or unknown matters. This aspect is often in the charts of investigators, detectives and those involved in research. You have an easy understanding of knowledge, cause and effect.
Jupiter Trine Pluto -this aspect produces a powerful exhuberance in your nature that allows you to inspire others to their potential, as you likewise are able to achieve your own. You have wonderful organizational skills that can be useful, especially in business, education and public welfare.
Saturn Trine Neptune -realism and idealism merge easily to foster constructive efforts to achieve inspirtational plans. There is a good balance between intuition/receptiveness, and the self-preservation instincts. You are capable of pursuing profitable and worthwhile persuits, that benefit themselves and others. You are blessed with the gift of remaining critical to easy promises made by others, while keeping an open mind that allows for the possibility of miracles.
Mars opposes Uranus- excites to competition and arouses others to challenge you. You are demanding and authoritative. You may thrive on argument, even when you arn't serious about it. Because of these assertive leanings, you can make an excellent sales-person. You don't tolerate restrictions of your freedom and mobility, needing to be constantly on the move. You may be attracted to hazardous activities, such as flying, racing, exploring, mountain climbing. You may be accident prone, so be careful! Avoid desire to throw caution to the wind. You may have outbursts of temper and cranky attitude..(who needs a cancer moon huh! j/k.. =) A revolutionary, you prefer your own way..!
Hope this sheds some light for you FD, let me know if you have any other ques, gotta run...! smile
btw, Fierce, here's your sun-moon combination...*just thought i'd throw it in, why not..! smile
3-4 Gemini/Cancer
The combination of your Sun sign and your Moon sign is beneficial to both, but often produces a somewhat high-strung emotional nature. Life is full of stimuli and fascinations, and the mind is always searching for experiences, romances, and revolutionary ideas to explore. You possess unusual emotional depth for a Gemini, and what your quick intellect doesn't pick up on, your emotions do. You have a greater ability to concentrate than others of your Sun sign. Keeping your mind focused is the key to controlling an ever present problem with nervous tension. If you can concentrate on some study or pursuit, putting your mind on it and leaving it there, problems with nerves seem to disappear. But when you dwell on personal issues and petty problems, you may find yourself becoming progressively more subject to tensions. You have a great need for peace, quiet, and stability in your life, and it is important that you establish these early in life. Unfortunately, domestic stability doesn't come easily or naturally for you, but it is important all the same. For all your problems with thinking and emotions, you always come out well. You are sure of yourself and confident of your analyses. You know what is going on in the minds of men, and you have little difficult predicting their actions. Tricks and games people play seem crystal clear to you, and you have an intuitive sense of how to react.
Mystic Fish I'm amazed, Thank You for your time and input.
Mystic any ideas about compatability? with other signs considering my chart.
Hey, no problem at all FD, you're very welcome.. smile 'about compatability, i'll look into that, and get back to you a lil later..'should be interesting..
Hi FD, i'm finally back, but where did this day go to..LOL!! ..all is done, and this is what i came up with; it may take a few good read-throughs to make sense; but as you can see..*there's ALOT to the art of compatibility, so you may want to copy and paste this for keeps..! smile

Actually, the best relationship is one where one's needs (Sun and Moon) and desires (Venus and Mars) are both met. Also, the Ascendant will indicate some general needs and desires, as well.
One way to do gauge compatibility between yourself and someone else, is to look at the relationship between each of these five placements across each of your charts: (Trine aspects are best, sextile second best) So, Sun-Sun, Moon-Moon, Venus-Venus, Mars-Mars, and Asc-Asc. When the placements between you both are in the same gender (fire and air are masculine, earth and water are feminine) or element, fire, earth, air, water--the same element or a close sextile is best--these placements are basically compatible. But of course it's much more complicated than that.
THE MOON
First, the Moon is the most important 'planet' in relationships. The Moon represents your deep security needs, and it is difficult to be with with someone who does not offer us what our Moon needs. Positive Moon compatibility will show two people who feel "at home" with one another, understand each other, and instinctively care for one another. It's like being family. Someone you feel comfortable enough to live with. That's why it's the most important planet in synastry.
In particular, since the Moon is feminine, the Moon shows what a man needs in a woman are. But the Moon definitely shows very vital needs for women, as well.
So for you, Fierce, since your moon is in Cancer (water=feminine gender) you would feel most *at home* with either another Lunar Cancer, pisces or scorpio-as you share a similarity of viewpoints and disposition. You will certainly be sensitive to each other's moods and feelings, and have similar likes and dislikes. This would be the ideal Trine Aspect, of course.
Your second best Sextile Aspect for Lunar compatibility would be with a Lunar Taurus, Virgo, or Capricorn.
continued...
One of my favorites, and another (HIGHLY) compatible placement would be, if your Moon is in the same sign as your partner's Sun, or vice versa. It indicates a lasting happiness and a deep understanding of the other. You GET each other, and feel that commonality and BOND; it's rather like a mirror effect, since the Moon is the closest satellite to the Sun. So, again FD, you would feel very much at home and feel most secure with a Cancer Sun, and vice-versa, a Cancer Sun would feel a comfort and understanding with you, as well, and most of all feel protective toward you, as the Sun likes to protect the Moon.
THE SUN
Since the Sun is masculine, the Sun particularly shows what a woman needs from a man. But also, for men, it shows an element that must be present in their partners for compatibility to be present.
So your Gemini Sun compatibility in 'Trine Aspect would would be either another Gemini, a Libra or an Aquarius Sun. Your temperaments harmonize easily, and you share an understanding of each others ideals, and aims. (In Sextile, this would be either an Aries, Leo or Sag Sun.)
Btw, an important point about SUN to SUN conjunctions (suns in the same sign) and that is, you will be either unusually compatible, or you will tend to irritate each other, depending on other aspects in your chart, of course. Because you share so many similar traits, this will either lead to harmony, agreement and understanding, or its total opposite; rivalry, antagonism or boredom..
-Other points of Sun-sign compatibility:
If your Sun sign is the same as your partner's Ascendant. Or your Ascendant is the same as your partner's Sun sign.
So for You Fierce; if your partner has their Rising Sign in Gemini, or your partner has their Sun in Scorpio (your Rising Sign - Your personalities will mesh well because you tend to think alike.
If your Sun sign is in opposition from your partner's Ascendant. Or your Ascendant is in oppostion to your partner's Sun sign. For you, that would be someone with either a Sag Ascendant, or someone with a Taurus Sun -In this case, each of you would be likely to supply what the other needs or even lacks, so there is balance there..
continued...
If your Sun sign is the same as the sign of your partner's tenth house, or your tenth house sign is the same as your partner's Sun sign: Since your 10th house mid-heaven is in Virgo, that would be someone with a Virgo Sun - You both mix career and love well. Your aims and goals should be compatible, and each can be a source of inspirtation and power to push the other.
Finally, in general, if your Sun signs are opposite; you find each other fascinating, frustrating, and intriguing--ALL at the same time!! ..gotta Love them Saggies!!..LOL* Winking
Fierce, i found Your 7th house descendant to be in Taurus -this is what you crave or may need on a deeper level/what you may attract, as well.

These natives attract marriage partners who have wealth to offer. They are cooperative in partnerships but expect some practical gain as a result. They spend money on lovely things that have quality. They also spend money on their partners and take great pride in the fact that they look well. You like all things beautiful, especially in a partner, as Venus rules your 7th house relationship cusp. (btw, You have both Mars & Venus in your 7th house-so this influence will make it ALL the more poweful and influencial!!)
VENUS & MARS in TAURUS
When Venus or Mars is in Taurus, the sexual nature involves all of the senses. Touch and smell are supremely important to these lovers. These are the most physical of sexual partners. No frills sex is quite fine, as long as the mood is right and there is plenty of physical contact. These lovers don't have a reputation for spontaneity or variety, but they are good at what they do nonetheless, simply because they are truly right there with you. Abstaining from sex is especially difficult for Taurus, so finding a regular sex partner is particularly important. Their sexual stamina during love-making is long-lasting and steady. Although generally patient, their style is natural and physical, and intellectualizing the sex act would only serve to baffle Taurus.
continued...
OTHER important Venus-Mars connections//There is a Powerful Sexual Attraction, when:
Your Venus and your partner's Mars are in the same sign -or vice versa: (so someone with their Mars in Taurus for you) -passionate and responsive, highly stimulating, even if temperamental differences exist.
Your Venus is in the same sign as your partner's ascendant -or vice versa: (your special someone with a Taurus ascendant) -you tend to be imaginative lovers and know what pleases each other.
Your Venus is in your partner's sun-sign -or vice versa: (someone with a Taurus Sun placement) -both a joyous sex life, but also mutual interests in other areas.

Your Mars is in your partner's Moon sign -or vice versa: (someone with a Taurus moon) Can be a VOLITILE combination because of the emotional element; Be careful!! Winking ..a high-keyed sex life is indicated.
At any rate you will most likey be attracted to someone with may Taurean-like traits and/or someone within the water element of energy; a cancer, pisces, scorpio moon or sun... *As well, Fierce, you were born on the Gemini-Cancer cusp, so you will have Cancer tendencies. Your's is a senstive nature, that is easily hurt with carelessness or selfishness. You want to create beauty and be known for your brillance; you are not satisfied with being ordinary. So there is certainly a touch of water on your Sun...*also note that most cusp-born people are attracted to other cusp-born people.
i'd like like to make a quick, but very important note about Mercury. Since it's the planet of communication, a mercury-mercury conjunction (same sign) or (same element) will be most beneficial when it comes to the art of communication. You will think alike, talk, communicate on the same wave-length with each other. It just makes things go that much easier, and i find there is alot more ease of laughter when people share this aspect, as well. (So someone with their Mercury in Gemini, Aquarius or Libra...'you may find the most natural ease of communication..)
last continue... 'sorry for being 'kinda long-winded here FD, but i much prefer to be more on the thorough side of things, anyway..LOL* Tongue
However, in a nutshell, if you take your inner planets by element: 2 water/2 air/2 earth (including rising) imo, Fierce you are quite well-balanced; understanding that your 2 fire planets are also your more outer, generational ones. i feel you would get along with many types, your chart is quite varied and flexible. Of course it may also depend alot on what you're looking for too; a contrasting, edgier type of relationship, or one where you share similar qualities and desires; so that has to be taken into account, as well. i tend to think most relationships are somewhere in the middle myself. All in all though, i do believe it's good in the end to let your HEART lead you naturally, then let astrology follow and fill in the spaces, gaining more info and insight along the way. Sometimes what we happily end up with, or choose in life is not what we would' ve planned or even expected...*life can be funny that way.. there are no easy answers, because of the high human element involved, and myriad of possibilities. 'Astrology really is a GREAT tool, in that as we learn more about ourselves, we understand more of (why) we feel, crave or desire the things in life, the way we do.. So you can go through this analysis as many times as you need to, and see what signs or qualities in a relationsship that interests you the most, or seem to *repeat* the most. Yet at the end of the day, with the right person, it all seems to make sense, anyway...*no two charts will ever be 100% compatible, you can come close, but sometimes those squares and oppositions are also needed to keep that extra spark, interest and fireworks alive too! Winking ..hope this gave you some food for thought Fierce..! smile ...good luck to you!
