Pretty much any planet in 10th-12th suggests popularity is important.
You're right in the sense that it's hidden to the chart holder themselves, but still in plain sight to others.
The 12th House is uncomfortable for the chart holder because it feels like the whole world is looking into you before you've even gotten a grasp on your own personal boundaries.
10th, 11th, 12th house are the most visible houses in the chart wheel. They're both socially and universally-oriented.
But I'm not disputing, say for example, anyone who has a bad experience with being "popular" or being made a public example for reasons they didn't like then goes onto take that one negative experience to heart and becomes a recluse - like a lot of 12th house experiences online suggest.

Exactly. Well, at first they wouldn't, but I know some 12th House people who've conquered that and stopped deceiving themselves. They are people who hold extraordinary presence, once they've matured into that stage.
