Just curious to why you chose your user name. And yes, lots of you had had many, so elaborate on that as well.

I'll go first. I'm a typical capricorn, a true capricorn. So I chose truecap.

Was lost in this real world, still am in some sort of way.

Lissa is a name my mom wanted to name me, but that didn't happen. It's been a nickname since childhood and I couldn't stand it while growing up. After all the teasing, it kinda grew on me.... Later, an ex would call me Miss Lissa and it stuck. The rest is history. 🙂

I chose placidd because Ive been using it for every username Ive made on a lot of websites for the past 2 years haha.

Plus it ("Placid" not "Placidd". the latter is not the correctly spelled word) means "calm" or "not easily upset"..I try to be, I'm not that much of an agitator, and people always see me as easygoing, patient, and relaxed.

Snoz use to be my nickname back in primary school. Use to play Soccer (GK) and there was an Australian GK called Bosnich and my friends combined that with the way I use to be always with snot running down my nose lol and it became snozzy.

So Aquasnoz! Definitely wanting to change it to something else though!

Oops, sorry. But this I don't get, what difference does it make if you're at work? I mean unless you have your boss or a colleague breathing down your neck. And if that's the case, then you probably should avoid surfing privately on your work time in general because time is money, right? Is there some sort of magical "device" that sends an alarm to your boss every time your browser picks up on a dirty pic ... or why is everyone so paranoid about this? Just don't go cruising porn sites, that's all.

It's what I've been called over the years and I came to realize what everyone was saying.

Mine's just an old CB handle I used back when I was a teenager. I've considered changing it to Cappyricious though as my Gem Moon makes me a little capricious and would be a little more fitting for the site.

Yea..If I recall, Jynja's MOM is French. And Tizi, Born in London, but a melting pot of sorts..Trini, French..etc

I myself, am of West Indian Descent.(Parents from Haiti) Before the slaves KILLED off EVERY Frenchman in 1804..the island was FULLY occupied BY the French. To this day, French is one of two main languages of the country.

So ya.. French, the language, is sprinkled just about everywhere.

A-ha. Do speak you both French and Creole? I know this one Hatian guy and I asked him if spoke Creole. He stated that his mother didn't want him speaking Creole, just straight French... which I found a bit odd.

YES, I do speak BOTH. My conversation, and written needs work as I don't speak or write it much. but I CAN read, & listen to anything and will understand. I'm sure a few months in France will cure that IMMEDIATELY.

I DESPIIIISE Old school Haitians, who deny speaking Creole and deny their children from speaking it. It is The "language of the people". They feel that by speaking French, it distinguishes them as "Higher class" and it further defines their "Education level" feeling it makes them SUPERIOR compared to the strugglingcommoner who can't afford private school education to learn French.

Stupid Classism complex. Makes me SICK to see The SAME race turn their nose up at one another all because they can speak & write a Language?? What they fail to realize is that by Speaking French ONLY, does NOT make them FRENCH.

I won't even get started on the Dark - light skinned color inferior/superiority complexes.

Creole is a Language of SURVIVAL. It is a mixture of many languages.(several West African dialects,Spanish,French,Taino Indian etc..) It was a language used to CONFUSE the French in ORDER to gain the Country and Independance FROM them.

To dismiss & debase this Historic language is to spit on the blood that was shed to win over the country. I am PROUD to speak Creole and will try my damnest to teach my own future kids..

Whenever I cross paths with those type of Haitians. I tell them " You will NEVER be French."

I picked Undine in a fraction of a second. It is a mermaid name, from a sad story I've read as a teenager. I'm a Pisces. I could have picked Lorelei, though.... another mermaid name, from a poem my parents thought me when I was a child.

It was only lately that I actually understood what made me choose Undine almost instantly. Undine is similar to Andy, the name of the Cap I was obsessed with at the time I landed on dxp, straight on the WoundedLeo's thread. That was three month ago and I'm still obsessed with him to some extent.

My username back in 2005 was "Virgotme" (and he still does have a hold on my heartstrings) We forced ourselves to end things for his 3 children and the circumstances surrounding a nut job. That is the ONLY reason I changed it to and now have "Let it Be". Definitely not for purposes here or the relentless attitude I attribute to dxp as some would think.😉
