The definition of respect is a feeling of deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities, qualities, or achievements.
I work hard to fine tune my abilities, skills, personal qualities and on my achievements whether that is work skills, cooking, housekeeping, hobbies, talents, etc and I like that work to be aknowledged and respected.
I'm not a sex object.
I'm not a trophy.
I'm not submissive.
I have qualities that attribute to the relationship, family, marriage (whatever). I expect to be respected for those qualities.

Seems pretty simple. Respect who she is and what's important to her. Do not simply accept her but try to live in harmony with her. Love cannot exist without respect and respect comes first.
Every man and women on Earth should expect to be respected by others, but not everyone has enough self-respect to ward off those who do not respect them. Some are clouded by delusions, illusions, insecurities, etc...
This woman is telling you that a man respecting her is important to her. Do you respect her?
