Your chart gives you incite into who you are as a person. My question to you is: The person your chart describes, is that the final outcome of the person you were meant to become? Meaning, the person the chart describes, we haven't grown into yet. Or does the chart describe us when we are at the peak of our energies? Before we slowly decline into old age. It is impossible for someone to be who their chart describes their WHOLE life. So....At what point in one's life, are you the person you are described to be?

Your birth chart is exactly what it is... a snapshot at the moment you were born. You can use it as the basis for other charts as it gives a hell of a lot of information within it once you know where to look.

It's not something to grow into because you're already moving past it by the moment you were born.

If someone spent their entire life as their birth chart, they'd probably be someone who'd bore you to death at the dinner table.

"A man who views the world the same way at 50 as he did at 20 has wasted 30 years of his life"
It is logical to view it in that way! I have never thought about it like that.

I am quite confused though, because as a child, I was nothing like my chart describes. It seems to me that as time goes on, I am gaining more in common with what it says.

Though I hope what you say is right. At least then I will have a fighting chance to overcome the less than desirable aspects of it.

Then again, I have read in various places some aspects of a chart described as " you are this way because your mother was this way towards you". If it is a snapshot, how would someone influence an aspect?

More or less, everyone on here are misleading themselves when they identify with their placements? I mean, what your saying is that we are already evolved far past our chart at the time of birth. So astrology is just a big waste of time in the self discovery department. Was it only ever meant for predictions of future events? Really, it is an interesting theory.

What would be misleading is getting into just placement astrology alone: then you meet someone who's a Mars In Cancer, oh but they reacted this way 3 later and it wasn't in character with Mars in Cancer descriptions, it must be their Venus in Aries, but then they didn't express themselves in a way that would be very Venus in Aries-like, it must be their... and it goes on and on until you're looking at astro sites and books every day.

That to me is misleading and it wears people down. I've seen it happen too often.
Thank you for your valuable input! Your view on the matter was the last thing I was expecting. I am very attached to my opinions and views and what you said kind of threw me for a loop. I do see some truth in what you are saying, though. Unfortunately, you have shaken my philosophy and am left with more nagging questions than not.

On another note, all this site seems to mostly be is about placement astrology. Why do you find yourself here? You must find it extremely irritating when 86% of the posts here are about such things. Don't you think your knowledge on the matter is wasted in a place like this?

Oh and there's draconic chart which is your 'soul' from a past life in case you don't relate to your current chart. I think.
Compatibility in astrology to me means nothing. When people say they only want to be with people who they are 'astrologically' compatible piss me off and show they are puppets with no freedom. Nobody is 100% their sign (not everyone knows that unfortunately).

It's a placebo effect.
Draconian charts are really interesting and not just from a past life perspective. When I studied mine in depth, it seemed possible and in some instances alarmingly accurate. It's true, no one is 100% like their sun sign 24/7.

I see our natal charts as our life's potential and its pitfalls too. It is what you make it. It's a guide, a roadmap, to help you become the best you can be utilizing information it offers.

For the longest time I was rejecting astrology because I thought: "All this fighting I am doing to get away from my past, and I am still going to end up being this secretive, distrustful, world wary person ( thinking the natal chart described someone at their peak). It is such a relief to know that these influences can be overcome and are not set in stone for someone throughout their life.

Were you rejecting it because you didn't relate to your sign or just the concept of astrology in general?

I was rejecting it because I thought the natal chart described all I was ever going to be and I didn't like that.
