notice any pattern/theme in how people write and how it relates to their sign?

like when someone writes out a villain, it always ends up resembling the writer even moreso than the hero?

coz the hero is usually supposed to be blank and relatable to the masses so the villain is basically a self-insertion.

so this guy ken kesey (virgo) dug deep into the darkest parts of his soul and came up with the character of nurse ratched. soft-spoken, well-mannered, methodical, always following the rules, control freak averse to risk or chaos, goes home thinking she's a good person trying to help out in healing people and is morally-above people coz she's doing the right thing. she is the quiet banality, the bureaucracy of evil of any and every powerful institution that exists to regulate, control, and categorize groups of people. sounds familiar, right?

another example is gilian flynn (pisces) who created amy dunne who molds 'the man of her dreams.' she plays the illusion of the stereotypically submissive woman. using victimhood and the role that society is pushing on her to her advantage. and it all started when her bubble was 'popped,' the romantic partner and situation she idealized started to fall apart so then she frames a man for rape, guilt-trips her husband, fake her own abuse and kidnapping then goes home with blood all over after her 'survival' gaining ultimate sympathy. typical neptune shenanigans.
Lol

I'm going to look into this and get back at you later

I think you're right thou

disagree. as flaubert put it, 'mme bovary, c'est moi'.

the writer's spirit possesses both the villain and the hero. stephen king (virgo) makes jack torrance (the shinning) to be a nice fellow, a creative spirit, a writer himself, a man who loves his kid and wife but who s also struggling with his demons. john updike (pisces) follows rabbit (the rabbit series) through his life's journey where we find him to be, at times, both a good christian and a wife cheater.

i agree w you when you re saying that 'notice any pattern/theme in how people write and how it relates to their sign?'. yes, that's why i love aqua writers (i feel i could ve written those books myself if i had the talent and the panache) or aries writers (original, bold, novel forms of writing) but i also love gemini writers (chandler, celine - thats a pseudo btw, connan doyle) and much to my surprise cancer writers (hemingway, whose brief, succint writing is 'adorned' w a stylistic sobriety you wouldn t expect from a drunk like him; but, as he said once - write drunk, but edit sober)

like when someone writes out a villain, it always ends up resembling the writer even moreso than the hero? --- no, and i wrote myself why not. take agatha christie, the virgo. poirot , that's her. but she's also the murderers

virgos loves to write about the spookiest things. funny you mention stephen king coz i was going to bring him up too. the thing about king is that he feared a lot of things which made him imbue supernatural/otherworldly fears into the most ordinary, mundane everyday objects or situations. as a kid he feared the dark, snakes, rats, spiders, psychotherapy, deformity, closed-in spaces, choking, death, flying etc. which enables him to keep producing a wide variety of nightmares.
thomas harris (born august 22 possible virgo/libra energy?) gave us the psychiatrist hannibal lecter. a cultured intellectual with a refined taste in art, music and cuisine. but is true to the promise of a mutable double life part-timing as a serial-killing cannibal.

you sent me on an astrotheme binge .....with my favorite authors.....

- Truman Capote /Libra Sun/Scorp Moon

- Neil Gaiman/Scorp Sun/Leo Moon

- Philip Roth/Pisces Sun/Cap Moon

- Julian Barnes/Cap Sun/Leo Moon

- P.G. Wodehouse/Libra Sun/Leo Moon

- Christopher Hitchens/Aries Sun/Libra Moon

- Doris Lessing/Libra Sun/Libra Moon

- Ferdinand von Schirach/Taurus Sun/Taurus Moon

- William S. Maugham / Aqua Sun/Taurus Moon

- Graham Greene/Libra Sun/Cancer Moon

i am seeing a lot of venusian qualities .....
i swing between 2 extremes when it comes to what i consume.

i've noticed i like sag writers with their light-hearted, simple and humorous writings (secretly, i think they're the wisest). but in small doses like medicine lol.

weirdly, most of the time i wallow in the melancholic otherworldliness of a lot of gothic writers (particularly cap and pisces energies).

outstanding amongst his other villians imo is annie wilkes from misery!

funny i was just thinking of her character the other day and how i personally felt like she's the kind of evil i can relate to the most (minus the murders!). there's a simplicity in her character that i find oddly relaxing, how she has a terrible temper about things that she believes gets in the way of her world views. she lives in a small, secluded environment where everything has their place. and anything that disrupts this order is a threat. she likes to keep to her bubble.
most frightening evil for me has to be someone extremely charismatic, seemingly likable/gentle/soft-spoken but is actually completely devoid of morality. underneath that clean cut godliness is the devil. a cult leader type evil. makes you question if they have actual good intentions or even genuine faith in higher powers. imagine a flock of people, even your innocent children exposed to this 'influencer.'

could it be me at my most evil?

i don't know but all i know is that L. Ron Hubbard is a pisces sun/virgo moon.

Fire sign women likes to portray Capricorn men as the villains,

While J.K Rowling doing it subtly so only people who familiar with Astrology can notice,

Sagittarius' Cornelia Funke says Fu*k it, i'll let the entire world know how evil Capricorn men are

davis grubb (leo) writes about a charismatic preacher who is secretly vicious and violent played by another leo (robert mitchum) in the movie.

This is an interesting way of seeing things, though I can't see how any artist would not use parts of themselves, even if it's only the lens the see the world through to shape their art.

As for the villain vs the hero, I think artists have the gifted ability to see, challenge and even embrace their shadow side, and I think they are writing both their villains and heroes as they see themselves.

With that said, I found it interesting that I came across this thread today as today is Bram Stoker's birthday. As you may know he wrote Dracula. Although he denies it (and based on what I read I'd have to agree), its suppose to be based on the life of Vlad III the Impaler, which coincidentally was also born on November 8 about 400 years earlier.

Totally grave digging but I have your answer. It's the source of inspiration. Even if that source is flipped to portray the opposite of it.

So many easy examples of this. Mimi from the Drew Carry show is a total sweet heart the opposite of her character. Friends are based off of actual people. People with rough pasts and issues are know to be great artists. To be fair positive things can just as easily be used as inspiration and used in a outlet(expression).

On a similar note, some of the strongest people have been tempered by overcoming difficult experiences. They tend to be more interesting too then the the run of the mill vanilla personalities too.
