Please tell me what you think.
The empty spaces in the trees bristle with a haunting emptiness that was never there before. The morning sun rose with the dwindling breeze of Hurricane Albee. The leaves swirled about the ruins in hopes of creating a beautiful landscape. We must forgive them though, for it is they, the leaves themselves, which bring joy through color (without judgment) and spread it throughout the landscapes. They only know happiness without prejudice and they are saddened when they are merely trod upon in the wake of the devastation. Now, they too, understand the pains of mourning.
The breeze whispers of those who have fallen. Our loved ones speak to us as if to say; do not fret, for we are at rest and free from all that is pain and suffering. The last remaining raindrops may be tears and to the people, it is their own perception that these are tears of anguish. But no, these are tears of joy. The fallen ones remind us… for as long as the sun creates the light and the rainbows through the mist, that we do live on and dance beyond the stars where purity and prosperity intertwine as one.
The essence of the storm and those tortured spirits were finally blown out by the Canadian cold front. The once swollen atmosphere has now simmered down and during the process, healing the wound within itself. The rising sun created the daylight for all of us to see.
And just like the leaves, the sun only knows how to spread happiness; lying down upon the ocean and igniting reflections across the sea. It hoped to blot out the malcontent that stirred below the surface… it was a futile attempt. The low tide permeated the air with rotten seaweed and the surf reeked of decaying flesh. Among the debris that was scattered all along the beaches were the gutted rides and the broken piers. It all lay in mangled heaps across the beachfront…so did most everything else.
The Irish Bars along the beaches were obliterated. Charlie Daly and the Westies refused to acknowledge the impending doom. Perhaps they were right; up until the sky cracked open. Charlie noticed that the waves were at eye level…and he was on the second floor of the pub. The crew ran to the room furthest from the window…and then the ocean snuffed them out.
"When the Night Falls"
>
> At first light, we did our first good deed. We had to bury the Queen. We needed to pick up every little piece of her and put her remains in an old crate (one of many) that Artimus owned. Artimus made sure that we picked the grass clean of all her flesh. This was a horrible task. I had to comb the grass to find any shards of bone and bits of fatty tissue and then store them for eternal rest. Artimus made sure the Queen’s crown was to be stored in the crate as well. As he handed me a shovel, he said that the Queen deserved a proper burial; I agreed of course.

> As we laid her to rest, we felt an icy breeze emanating from the trees. Through the dark morning mist that encircled the forest, an entity was peeking at us from behind a tree. She was wearing a long, silver gown and she had those eyes! Those silvery, shiny eyes of death that glowed in her skeletal face… the eyes cut right through to your soul. The spirit was slowly hovering in the trees. Her hair was floating as if she were underwater and the ends of her gown were coiling around the trees next to her.

> “That is Algia,” Artimus said with disgust and dread.
