My boyfriends older brother told me to read this book and I want some opinions on it before I tell him whether or not I am going to read it! thanks
the secret
haha okay thank you!!

I didn't like this book. It was way too sensationalised. Plus, after you read it you feel nauseated - heavy stuff can't be presented too lightly and prettily. The wisdom in this book is better in small doses - not forcefed.
I am not sure about the thinking about riches can make you rich bit, but it is totally correct in changing your life through changing your perspective. Negative thought process leads to illness and addiction and affects your life in a myriad of ways. It is impossible to be bright and breezy all the time, but if you get into the habit of feeling positive, actually make a conscious effort to think about good stuff and continuously focusing on this, your subconscious begins to accept that life is great and then you have the confidence and energy to achieve or be the person you want to be. You only have to look at the people who are filled with hate and misery. Are these [eople attractive , would you want to be their friends or employ them etc etc. Their life choices are limited by negative patterning which feeds the subconscious with a constant bombardment and reinforcement of their hate and misery. They become addicted to this and their life becones crap because of it. The Secret is pretty basic-you cannot always change your environment or your particular problems, but you can change your attention focus and emotion within seconds. Problems will still be there but you will not allow them to to make you self-destruct or say for instance affect your relationships as when you start on the negative patterning route you will end up losing your job, your girlfriend, your friends, your self respect, possible sanity and God knows what else. I think that that is probably the best thing to take out of the book.
It is a inspirational read and it works on that level and definitely makes you think about concepts which are interlinked. The video is much better at putting the point across, so buy that. You can probably get it cheap secondhand......

Slaps a "copyright infringement" on your head.
There are other books on the same subject that I like better. Though I believe in the concept of LOA, I do not feel that the Secret gives enough of a "nuts and bolts" view of how to achieve your vision.
So can anyone recommend a book to achieve what is said in this book "Secret"

I saw the video it was in a way an interesting experience. I can not say that it has anything profound but what it offers is a new way of thinking about life, your situation, and the world. In a way I would say that it puts you on the positive path as far as those thoughts. Which is important in accomplishing things and daily life.
Read it, what can it hurt?

i don't think the secret was so secret after all. there have been lots of books or articles on the law of attraction, karma, positive thinking etc. which personally gave me more to think about. it is useful for those who never thought about their own personal power before but i got tired of reading the same thing over and over.
that's what it basically boils down to?
i saw these on bookstores and in many herbal/candles stores where they display it. It looks too suspicious. So i never bothered.
Now.....if people pick up Carlos Castaneda and read his series.....
that is much more, realistic and full of imagination and insights into the "Otherworld".
i just looked it up and i saw that she wrote another book called, "The Power"
now...i'm getting piqued....so what is the power?
but here is an interesting article online:

When you love someone??_..really love them just for the sake of loving them??_.unconditonally??_.then you send out that love to the universe??_.it is felt by all??_.it is a universal love??_..not just aimed at one person. I would say that the great magi of the past and present love each and everyone of us like that??_..unconditionally.
But??_something popped into my head today and it was about??_??_the bible??_..the words??_.—Give and you shall receive??_.. 10-fold—?_..
So??_..I was thinking??_.what about the person who doesn't love you back??_.we might still love them unconditionally and nothing??_.nada??_.zero back??_..so what happens here? Where is the love returned? I know it's not about that??_..but it would be nice to receive a little back??_??_ right?
And then it hit me??_??_it does!
I was thinking??_??_imagine you love someone unconditionally??_.and that person doesn't love you back the way you want to be loved??_..so you dream, you wish, you create a picture of the love you would like to have in return, even if you don't ask for it and accept the person as they are??_??_..your heart will still yearn to be loved back in return??_.it's only human to do so.
it sounds really good. I may have to pick up the "Secret" and "The Power" just so i can see how the writer views the world.

I changed my life by changing how I think about life. the concept in this book is priceless, the book itself, eh there are others.

Two books that I regret wasting money on and actually never finished reading. 1.The Secret (concept is not new and I believe in law of attraction the book itself is poorly written, trivial and doesn't really depict the "philosophy" in an accurate manner, how could you though on such few pages)
2."Act like a Woman think like a Man" by Steve Harvey LOL
No.2 was borrowed by a friend and I told him not to mind giving back I won't read it No. 1 I will give away one day, as a Bday present for a colleague I don't like or sth like that 😉

It's a good book confusing at first but the movie made it easier to get it

This book reminds me of how Donald Trump answers a question
