I think there has been (or was/used to?) that vampire fads..recently
like twilight sagas?
haven't read it though
..although I've read few other/some books related to blood sucking creatures
1. Dracula
by Bram Stoker
..enjoyed it very much..more than I had expected lol thought it was going to be old, boring..but no, it wasn't
2. The Vampyre
by John William Polidori
..not really a novel, but rather a short story..so it was quick to finish this..at the same time quite entertaining itself
3. Interview with the Vampire
by Anne Rice
4. The Vampire Lestat
by Anne Rice
..although I enjoyed reading above two books..it's very probably that I won't read others of the same series..don't know why lol
5. Vampires: The World of the Undead
by Jean Marigny
..nothing new I have discovered from this book..but this one is one from the same series/collections of the book which I mentioned in the previous thread...so this book is also rich in its color illustrations
I have been reading The Vampire, His Kith and Kin, by Montague Summers..
are there any good vampire books you would like to recommend?
I would prefer research materials over fictions..

The thing about the Vampire is that it is a mythical creature that serves as a metaphor for certain kinds of real life personalities. You know, the kinds of personalities that suck energy out of people and benefit themselves. Any 'player' that uses girls is such an example.

I feel Vampires and Zombies are getting really overused today.

hem (in our attempt to build our identities in the opposition of the Other)
probably the reason why vampire and zombies are overused today is that we still don't know who we are
..lol what have I just written here?

"Twilight" is the bane of intellectual enrichment. Avoid at all costs.
Sheridan LeFanu's "Carmilla" might interest you if you liked "Dracula." Really, I've never read a vamp novel as satisfying as "Dracula," but there are some good series out there. Dracula has been more and more romanticized and a lot of newer books reflect that.
