Anything I can do to get my ex back?

I do not know how much astrology has to do with it, but wanted to get your opinion regarding my situation. My ex has sun and venus in cancer. I am taurus sun with venus in aries. We dated for about one year. He was very nice, respectful, loving and affectionate in the beginning of our relationship. He asked me to move in four months into dating but I waited for about 10 months before making the move, because I wanted to be sure that it was the right decision. Finally, I broke my lease, paid $ 3,500 in fines for breaking the lease, rented a storage and moved in. After a month and a half living in his house he said he felt insecure, unhappy and depressed in the relationship. We never had any big arguments, but there were instances where he asked me about my opinion re buying another car and I told him that for 120K the car should be driving itself and that it had "too much crap" on the dashboard. Three weeks later, he told me that the word "crap" was offensive to him. I apologized as I had no idea that is how he felt. I also wanted to adopt another dog and when I asked for his permission after i was living in his house, he could not give me a straight answer and I asked him to give me a yes or no answer. He taught I was aggressive and disrespectful. I again apologized multiple times, not knowing how I was aggressive. He stopped being affectionate with me for about two months before he broke up with me and threw me out on the street with no place to go the week before Thanksgiving. For the time we were together, he would not spend any holidays with me and my family because he always went to Brazil where his mother, brother and sister live. I understand how important family is because I am very dedicated to my family as well. He also went to Brazil during my birthday which I thought it was rude and impolite. I asked him to please spend one holiday with me and he said he would but he never did. We have 14 years difference in our ages and he has never been married. Our understanding was that we were in a serious committed relationship. He has asked me to go with him multiple times to Brazil, to meet his mother and family but because of my job I cannot take the time off at the moment otherwise I would lose my job.
