Cancer tells his bf his feelings for me but NOT me

I've been friends with a cancer for some years now / we are childhood friends . Other time we developed feelings for each other . He's very subtle with his comments with me and their are rare moments when his is straight forward . I have suspected he has feelings for him I know I have deep feelings for him but I have not build up the confidence to tell him what I think he already knows . ( we have a telepathic connection ) 2 nights ago his bestfriend ( a guy) mutual friend . Call me to chat . He proceed to say me and his friend need to stop playing games with each other . I asked him did he tell you anything or are you assuming things . He said he and him had a talk about me and he told him how he feels about me but he will not tell me being he told him in confidence but all I need to know is he needs to get over his heartbreak first.i then said to him when we have a disagreement he tells me I'm not his girlfriend . He said maybe that's him with his wall up . I know he hasn't been in a relationship in two years . I feel it's time I tell him but I don't know what to do with this info . Is there anyway I should go about . I can't say I like you ; I know you like me your bestfriend told me . He has venus in 12th house (like he had some bad relationships) so sad!

Lol I so want to at this point . I feel sometimes my pride a stronger than my feelings well that's what it feels like . He's just wishy washy . And I know for sure he wants to know how I feel , but I don't know if he is gonna follow suit
