So, I was just curious as to whether any of you Cancer ladies do or don't want kids? I don't, I've never had that yearning to be a mother...if anything I've always felt very opposed to the whole thing. I do still have maternal tendencies though, toward my husband, my friends, my cats and generally anyone I care for. I'll defend those I love with a vengeance, but you'll never catch me chatting anybody up about having a baby. I have a passion for travel and seeing the world, but I still cherish my home more than anything.

I know to be a Cancer and not want children is out of the norm, I'm just wondering if anyone else shares my view?

LOL I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that way. When I see a bratty kid at the mall screaming their head off all I can think is "please make it stop!" I just don't have the patience to deal with all that. I respect people who are good parents because I know it's something that I don't think I could ever do, or do successfully for that matter. But I guess everybody is good at different things, I'm good at my job and I'm very confident when it comes to adventure and travel. I know plenty of people who are fearless parents but shake in their boots at the thought of moving across the country.

PurrHiss, I'm sort of like you in that sense. I'm a carrier of a genetic disorder (my first cousin got it and I was lucky enough not to) but that's a huge reason that I've decided against having kids. To me, it's just not worth taking the risk because I've seen the difficulties that my cousin has faced. I respect GOOD parents in this world, but it seems to me that a lot of the people I know who are having children really shouldn't be. Either they can't afford them, are having huge marital issues, or they just aren't mature enough...seeing people like that having kids makes me not want to have them even more (if that makes sense). I just feel like there are already so many kids in the need world who need parents, it makes me feel bad to think of having my own.

Not only that, but the thought of something hugely permanent like being a parent just scares the heck out of me. There's no going back and you never know what your child will turn out like. Charles Manson's parents never knew their kid would be a murderer lol. So basically, I'm very much a control freak which is pretty much impossible when you are a parent LOL!

They say Cancers are supposed to be the "nurturing" ones in the zodiac, so of course one would think it to be odd if such a "nurturer" didn't want kids or a family.

Problem is, you can still be nurturing & yet NOT want kids, or hell, even a husband or family. Not wanting kids doesn't make you any less of a nurturing person, especially if you're already being nurturing to the people that you ALREADY have in your life.

Same goes with "maternal instincts." Most of us had this BEFORE we even had children, so who can logically say that you're any less nurturing or "maternal" just b/c you decide not to have kids? These instincts don't go away just b/c you don't have kids, considering these instincts were already there beforehand anyways.

Good point Krys, I think that's very true in my case. I'm very nurturing with the people I love and maybe a little suffocating too 🙂 But it's all because I want what's best for the people around me. I try to watch myself though, otherwise people get tired of my constant advice. But hey, I think people should listen to me, I have a pretty nice life so I must know a thing or two about living lol

I am sorry to hear of your cousin and the genetic disorder. However, I can assure you that the world would be a lesser place without handicapped people like Helen Keller, Ludwig Von Beethoven and Ray Charles. By no means am I suggesting that you risk having a baby with birth defects, but at the same time, the most successful and happy people I know are the ones who take risks and are not afraid. Sometimes bad things happen, but human beings would not be where we are today without pioneers and other people who were not afraid to take a chance.

As for psychopaths like Charles Manson, that is also a chance that parents must take. There is growing evidence to suggest that psychopaths are born with destructive mentalities because of their imbalanced neurological makeup.

Ever do any reading on psychopaths and their dysfunctional amygdalas?

It is slowly and scientifically becoming evident that a psychopath is born with a physically defective brain, and there is little that can be done to alter the psychopathic behavior without altering the physical brain.

Astrology Said Cancer Woman Are Mother Of Zodiac Signs,
Why Mother Dont Want Childrens ?
*STRANGE*
(I'm Glad I'm With Scorpio lol)

its nothing strange about it not everyone wants to be a parent or is fit to be one in times like this why would people want kids the planet is already over population because people cant control themselves there are many kids that need homes so why not adopt them and give them a fighting chance anybody can have kids but it takes time to nurture and not everybody wants to do that thats y u see kids that are in broken homes cuz the parents dont give a damn and shouldnt not had the child if they are truly selfish beings.

Thanks for the defense Legendary Virgo!! Maternal instinct doesn't necessarily mean we have to have kids, it just means that we care for and look after the people we love....friends, lovers, family, coworkers. If more people were responsible and weren't so worried about what they are "expected" to do then there wouldn't be as many broken homes. There are more than enough people having kids, I don't foresee the population dying out anytime soon.

awwwww no prob its just how i feel about that im just an honest person and thats how i feel i think people not only kids should have the best of everything.

yes u are right you can nurture many things your life you business people animals ur spirit you know.

things are different times are unsure do wanna bring a child in this world without thinking about these like this i tell people these things are they agree with me.

and i fucking hate seeing single mothers raising kids by themselves it takes 2 wtf i was raised by one and things was hard but me and my siblings turned out good it should be a mom and a dad always in a child no matter what happens so people should really think about the pros and cons of being a parent and what u must give up for that child.
