I swear, I don't know what is wrong with my grandmother (who is a cancer). She's almost 80 and working on her third husband (her last husband died not only a few months ago and she's already dating someone else). And what's more, not only 6 months after my grandfather passed away, while her children were still grieving (and while she should have been as well) she goes and marries his friend. For the life of me, I cannot understand. I know the day my life partner passes, they will have to pry me from his coffin. Are your affections always ephemeral,.. do you ever feel loyalty and a strong attachment for someone? Maybe it's just my grandmother. I know she's afraid of being alone, but it seems she's more active on the dating scene than I am!

Yeah,
U said it right. In her years right now, she is afraid of being lonely. So whatever man comes into her life, is not like a man that enters a younger woman's life. It is 2 fullfull her need of loneliness. So ALL don't take it personally. However, grandma really can't go out 2 the club, or go 2 work and pick up a man like me or U. And I don't think loyalty if a Cancer thing. All men and women can forget how loyal someone else was 2 them.

my dads a cancer....we lost my mother last sept. , i would understand eventually down the road if somethying like that happened but it doesnt look like he's that worried to be alone. he has hung so many pictures of my mom in thier house....i think all of them. im not sure if its healthy to do that but everyone has to cope in thier own way. i told him that mom would kill him if she saw all the holes he put in the wall hanging stuff up....he agreed. 🙂

Hey Thanks, Quo Vadis. I just read your message as my computer has been out of commission. Now why don't you have any info. on your profile, hmm? lol.

If you liked Il Postino, I think you would also like Cinema Paradiso a lot; there is this sentimentality and childlike nostalgia to a lot of Italian films that make them really endearing (though the content and themes are very complex so as to provide a strong contrast of the bitter and sweet of life). Ennio Morricone did the soundtrack and it evokes all these nostalgic feelings of a more simpler time in one's life.

Have your ever seen Wings of Desire? It's a German film by Vim Venders. Kind of dark in parts but life affirming.

I saw it a long long time ago. One of my Turkish friends made sure to point out that one of the soliloquys in the film was in Turkish.

Profile...Lol! Last time I had one written I was stalked by a homosexual Virgo...soooo, I've been a little reluctant. I suppose one of these days I'll get around to it.

Hmm, yeah, that's a bit strange. But stalk in what sense? Are we talking someone on the DXP boards?
