do cancers pretend to be happy?

do they pretend happy infront of their mates even if they've broken with someone? or genuinely are happy after breakups? and if someone has moved with whom they were closed once (the time could be approx 5 years) do they come back to get in touch with that person or simply move on? and how about if they get caught in something they were trying to hide from that person? do they pretend to be someone they're not to keep their image clean? and how much they lie?
I don't like to share much of my experience but all this happened with me with a guy so wanted to know..
will share some bits..
the guy use to love me and told me he loves only me and not anyone else in this world.. he even bought many things for me and proposed me often.. but many times i felt like he hides things to seek attention.. he disappears sometimes and then come back telling how his father got sickand how hes feeling lonely.. i never ask him questions but recently caught him talking to his mates on fb whereas he told he doesn't use social networking sites.. and when i confronted him, he's like u don't trust etc etc.. i didn't do wrong still i apologized so he doesn't feel hurt but he's like showing attitude.... anyways, his frnd told he commited suicide whereas i've seen him still talking to his frnds on fb.. i've seen him chatting but he told his frnd uses his acc.. (it's a lie obviously) i wanted to know are cancerians like that.. once i moved on, will he come and try to be nice again?because i don't want to keep any hopes and might to start a fresh life.. i never cheated on him and never lie 2

Yes, some (note I did not say ALL) Cancers will lie to themselves and pretend to be happy when they are NOT.
