Gemini / Cancer... was it really doomed to fail?

G'day fellow Aussie, it's great to see you here.
I've been here since last October.

Sounds like things aint goin' too well mate.

My basic understanding is that the Gem/Crab romantic union is a challenging one but it's not unheard of to succeed.
It really depends on the individuals, like all couples really.

I had a past Cancerian work associate I'd known for five years, he was happily married to a Gemini girl. So it can work.
With the right pairing.
If you're feeling soulmate love for her, you gotta be hurtin' but if she made the break and has already found a new bloke there's not much you can do, let her get it out of her system, if one partner leaves, it's because they're not happy.
I gotta say though, some of those Cancer chicks can be a freakin handful.
