How to date Cancers

I got advice from Cosmic & DarkCancerian and it's given me a lot to think about. This is my first time with a Cancer man so I'm VERY out of the loop with things. I'm used to Scorpios & Aries, who are very intense during pursuit. The cryptic, slow, indirect ways of my Cancer really throws me off. I do notice his Venus in Leo though, he loves to be around people and friends and is not at all a homebody.
Everyone who is dating/has dated or is a Cancer, educate me.
