I'm Not Sure About This ...

Okay, any advice here is greatly appreciated ...
Last night, I heard from an ex-cancer of mine -- he's a Gemini-Cancer Cusp and I haven't really thought about him nor have I wanted anything to do with him since we officially went our separate ways about a year and some monthes ago.
The relationships was complicated (to say the least) and it will take forever to explain why things were so unbalanced.
Basically, its been a long time since we've chatted and he sent a few texts, I answered because I was curious as to what he would have to say. Tonight, he wants to talk about some things.
Now, I'm unsure about this because I said I would never be within 14 feet of him again and know it (I have my reasons). But after being such a while, I am curious as to what he has to say ...
Question here is ... should I be?
