Your rising sign is who you appear to be to people. The polar opposite of your rising sign is what you look for in a mate. Usually if you are talking about compatibility you want to look at sun sign, moon sign compatibility. Your rising sign doesn't play as important a role in compatibility as does your moon sign. Can you give me the specific rising, moon and sun sign of both people? I may be able to help

rising sign is your personality whereas the sun is your character, your core. as mentioned by sunaina, this is who people perceive you as when they first meet you. however, this is also how you react in most situations when a new stimulus is present, such as a new environment or meeting new people. if talking about compatibility, you should go for someone with a similar or compatible rising as this is how you would like for them portray themselves to others. this is the way how we express ourselves in public. sun and moon and planets don't take effect until later when you're comfortable with your surrounding. the rising also sets up your house system. it gets pretty complicated hereafter because you have to consider aspects and what houses the planets are placed in, whether they are retrograde or direct etc. i'd say that if you have compatible sun and rising, you're well balanced because your core is not too far-fetched from the way you present yourself. this is not to say if you don't have compatible sun and rising means that you are false. i think those with incompatible sun and rising have a harder time juggling with the way how they want to express themselves to others and how they naturally are (my sister and friend both have this dilemma), but sometimes this can be a blessing. take a virgo with leo rising, this would give the virgo more confidence than is often associated with the sun sign. or a leo with virgo rising, this gives the leo more of a modest and humble streak, making for quite a charming and confident individual who doesn't feel the need to flaunt all the time. it's all about interpretation and how you want to perceive things. besides, if your sun and rising don't compliment, your moon and rising might and that is also good.

I have a question:

I know one way for people to be compatible is to have then share the same sign between their Moon & Sun or Sun & Rising (Ex: Person A. Has a Capricorn Moon while person B has a Capricorn Sun, or vice versa).

And I hear the same applies between teh Sun Sign and the Rising Sign.

But what if they don't share the same sign, but have compatible Moon and Sun? (Ex: Person A has Moon in Aries while Person B has Sun in Sagittarius)? Again, same situation holds for the Sun & Rising Signs...

Thank you.
