in my opinion - and it is only that, and opinion - he may be trying to integrate you into his life SLOWLY.... I think that he will one day surprise you by moving forward into a real relationship - unnex[ectedly...who knows, you may even go to a baseball game together one day [as friends] and suddenly see on the board "Kate, will you marry me ? love cancer" and turn to see him on one knee holding a ring....it's a cancer sort of thing....
but if you honestly don't feel that he has any intentions other than friendship - r that YOU don't want more than that then you should talk to him about it.

well only you can decide that - if you have had enough then you have had enough..... my best friend is a scorpio and I listened to her say the same sort of thing about her now ex boyfriend for near a year - dfferent problems though. I kept telling her she'd have to let him push her to a point where she just wasn't willing to take anymore or she'd just end up going back to him and starting all over again - I think that is the best advice for a scorp woman...you ladies are so intense you can't help but feel a pull - you have to let someone push you too far before you will finally walk away.

This IS what U wanted. All along! Now that it is happening, U R shocked. At first things moved 2 fast 4 you and your Cancer friend. Now, this R moving at a pace more suitable 4 him. U know in your heart he is the man of your dreams. U KNOW I know, he is slowly showing you with his actions that he wants the same. Remember, Cancer men R the same a Scorps. They have 2 decide when 2 let the bad go, and I guess his ex-girlfriend is finally becoming NON-EXISTING! Do, your part. If U want 2 B bother, go with him. Quit letting your negative fears come into play here, and don't LIVE in the past. Don't RETAIN that pain, that happened. LET it go, and slowly, he will prove 2 U, what good U were 2 him, and wonder Y in the hell did he ever leave U anyway.
