Capricorn female humor

A close Cap girlfriend of mine decided to start dating. (I know I know)
Our birthdays are both Jan 8 and just a year apart.
But she laughs at stuff I dont think is funny AT ALL.
I can make a room riot in uncontrollable laughter when Im on a roll and those of you who can also, agree that it is a switch that must be mindfully and forcefully turned off.
Think of the movie Mr. Deeds starring Adam Sandler.
Remember when he's saving the cats from the burning apt?
Remember when the one cat lands in Rob Schneider's "to-go" cart?
I laugh mildly that a cat lands in chinese food..irony. haha and maybe one more ha.
She laughs when he says "Oh..a cat". The phrase
People laugh when I do because they "get it" as soon as it happens.
They did not laugh when she laughed. (awkard moment)
I am so thoroughly confused because sometimes I can make her cry from laughing, but we can watch a funny movie and laugh at totally different parts and its so uncomfortable. Heeeeeeeeeeeeeelllp anyone who can relate.

She is the first born of 9 sibs though.
Ive thought about asking but I dont want it to seem like we're not perfect.
I know that sounds wierd but I just really like her a lot.
She does have a 4 year old and I am childless.
But your direct approach does make sense especially for the whole communication thing.
How would you like to be approached if you were her?
And also if you were a satyr would you hit the people you didnt like over the head with a whiskey jug? no offense just asking.

To Cap: yes she can..but when she says "isnt that funny"?!? Then you have to pretend it is or simply admonish that the 2 of you do not connect. id rather try to understand her than pretend to understand because as a Cap i like TRUTH.

By the way I did ask her, as you suggested and when I explained to her she said, "oohhh I get it now"!
THEN SHE SAID SHE DIDNT KNOW WHY SHE LAUGHED AT THE OTHER "PHRASE" FROM THE BEGINNING! and then she started cracking up.
Cap: just imagine being in a movie theatre full of people.
Then imagine laughing ALL BY YOURSELF.
Now imagine everyone in the theatre turning around to look at you..even your date.
Even the ushers have a disgusted look on their face because they've seen the funny movie 623 times.
Horrifying, absolutely horrifying.
Humor is very important to me and is the principle reason I can cope with DUBYA's government and all other aspects of life. I love life.
Usually people who meet me say they wish they could look at life like I do because I never seem to worry, get bothered, and I always believe everything will be just fine because it always has for me. Humor lets me know that you have a handle on things and wont crack. Plus its a cure all. Like I mentioned above...my cap counterpart DOES go through the typical capricorn deep depressions for quite a while which makes her rigid, and not pleasant to be around. WE NEED TO LAUGH TOGETHER ESPECIALLY IN THOSE TIMES.

No offense to any females at all, but lots of females look for the tiniest reasons to say "This isnt going to work". From belt buckles not matching shoes, to wearing a baseball cap. They will find anything. I just didnt want that to be a "connection issue" to be an excuse for easy bail out.

You have a point about feeling comfortable, but the adverse effect is that she makes ME feel uncomfortable. There are two sides here.
I'll admit this is a challenge. I dont think wanting to know someone better is bad at all. NEVER wanted to change her, I just wanted to understand her "point of view". Couples do it all the time.
I disagree with not being able to understand and find something funny. If that were the case then we would just laugh indiscriminately at oxygen. Question: would you laugh at Helium or the understanding that if inhaled will make your voice sound like a chipmunk?
I think its a natural question to ask anyone what they are laughing at just not ALL the time. Been happening to me since forever. Especially if you see it first. Question: Don Imus calls african- american women basketball players "nappy headed little hos". I thought that was just hilarious because it was definitely a blatant foul, but I know what he meant and im african-american. Understanding. Ignorance is funny sometimes. He just should have kept it close with his close black friends. Not the airwaves. Im from down south so a lot of racist stuff makes us laugh most of the time...im going on tangents sorry.
