Do they hold special meaning? Are they kept for the nice memories or because you may still be holding on?

Yeah, sometimes. Just depends on what it is. It's not about not letting go of the person, just nice to have the stuff. Like my first Valentine's Day card from a boy, or prom pictures, or a letter from my ex husband when we were dating....not really about the stuff or the person...kinda like certain things you keep from high school. Hard to explain. I'm just a hoarder I guess. lol!

it's fun to hang on to. maybe show the future grand kids their grandmother was desirable at one point. it's not like i lock myself in a room and cry over old pictures or anything.

I know hwta you mean. It's about keeping the memories of your life. I do that too, but they don't mean anything sentimental in terms of missing that person. It's my story and it's nice to keep the pieces. But honestly, i don't even go through them. they are just there in a box. lol.

Well. My ex bought me this nice laptop, she also bought me this nice lamp in my house for St. Val's. So yeah, but only because it's useful.

Hmm.. I see.. Yeah I have kept one thing from my last relationship but then again I didnt have many things from it. I just keep it as a reminder of where I have been and what I have gone through not because Im holding on to emotions that once were. I guess its to remind me of the nice times, no matter how far and few there were..
